What if Morris is better than Elliott?

Hypothetical? What do you do as the GM, if the running back coaches tell you that Morris is better than Elliot. What if Morris outperforms Elliot? Do you still keep Zeke at no.1 rb because of the draft investment or do you let the best players play?

Morris had a bad year last year, but prior to that he was a stud, and he's still young. Just curious what the CZ zone couch GMs would do.
Jerry says, You don't bench the #1 selling jersey. LOL

Morris wasn't used last year and why he wanted out.

Morris is an established Pro Bowler. You start him and let Zeke make his impact coming off the bench until he's too explosive to leave on the bench.

Ya, Zeke would have had a tough time getting a 3.0 average vs the Dolphins last nite as Jackson did. Glad you aren't GM. Zeke as 3rd string. lol.

Why am I thinking Parcels would do just that, to keep the kids head on straight, avoid the prima donna complex that can set in so easily in these young kids with big money all of a sudden......

Morris showing out can only be good for Zeke.

I worry about wearing the kid out with all these ridiculous expectations having never played 16 games before.

Then you start Morris.. Frankly Morris has earned the right to start the season, let Elliott earn it too. I felt the same way when Mcfadden was healthy. Unfortunately for Mcfadden he may have fallen to 3 on the depth chart. I know I thought there was no way Mcfadden would be displaced at the start of camp but that is now a real possibility.

Right now, we know absolutely little about Elliott. Our limited information so far is that he is injured and can't play but looks like he is having a great time on the sideline smiling all the time.

Elliott gets nothing given to him from me right now. For all I know he can be another Trent Richardson. We don't even know if he is as good as Darius Jackson. I know it is not popular but I would have Elliott as 3rd string right now. He has to earn it. We don't need some RB thinking he was drafted with a silver spoon in his mouth.

3rd string is off base as hes performed well during team drills. However, I do think Morris should be the week 1 starter with him and Elliott splitting 50/50.

Morris becomes the #1 RB and then you remind yourself that drafting a RB at #4 overall is generally a horrific idea. Then you do everything you can to make Dak Prescott a star QB in this league because if he turns into a Super Bowl QB, all if forgiven in this draft class. Just like the Patriots draft class the year Brady was drafted was downright putrid, but they got Brady (and deflated footballs)...so it was the greatest draft class in Patriots history.

Elliot seems to be Morris with extra speed, better hands, and more experience blocking. Maybe Morris has something intangible that makes him better, but just on paper it seems like Zeke should have all the pieces to be a 3 down back and be able to do everything Morris can do and a little bit more.

I mostly look at it like we could be a 30-35 carry team this year, with many of those being successful carries, and that's very interesting.

Watching the game replay ( its on right now) and morris looked great. I like mcfadden and appreciate what he did last year without a credible passing threat but man theres not gonna be enough carries togo around. I also like morris's in game interview. Very humble and grounded player. Im torn. I like all the rbs

Laughable. Morris isn't even better than Demarco. Just stop. It's not close.

Zeke >>>>>> Alf >>>>>>>>>> DMC >> DJax

You keep Zeke, Alf and Dunbar and PS DJax and his 4 cheap years........DMC is gone, too old, too expensive and no STs

I said that. He has to be healthy.

But the reason, according to people on this board, that we had to take Elliott at 4 was because he was a day one starter, elite, bellcow, etc.

Now people want to not start him, ease him
in, limit his carries, etc.
Dallas eased Tony Dorsett in during his rookie year in 1977. Turned out to not be a wasted pick.

And they eased in Emmitt because he missed training camp... hmmm

If Zeke comes back and plays next week and looks strong he'll be the day 1 starter. If not, we've got options.

I think Jackson is ok, he has been running behind 3rd string OL and I'd still getting over 3 yards per carry.

That being said Jackson isn't even close to being on Zeke level. I think most are putting Zeke down cause they haven't seen him play and once he does I bet the whole Morris, McFadden, Jackson and Dunbar debates go out the window. Zeke will be top 5 this year no doubt....(healthy)
