1 trade up for Derwin James or stay and take Roquan Smith
2 best 1 tech in 2nd round or FA
3 convince Witten to take job in Tennessee / play Rico as much as he can absorb
4 extend Irving
tag Lawrence
extend Martin
extend Cooper another prove it year
offer fair contract to Hitch

FA priority 1 tech lb and swing tackle

i dont think coaching changes no matter what we want
they wont cut Dez
i think at most they approach about pay cut
i do believe with a passing qb like Stafford or Brees a qb that slings it Dez would have elite stats
Dak needs to keep working on his pass game especially his anticipation and overall pass mechanics
he improved a lot
he could be much better

How about the wide swath in the middle that think he's overpaid and declining, but still our best WR by a wide margin and a good Cowboy lifer who should be treated with some respect for his overall Cowboys career?

The team needs to upgrade at the position and you don;t do that by cutting Dez.

You cut Dez, you get zero compensation beyond a nice 8mil dead cap hit.

i remember here when Dez held out
people here was panicking
i swear if Jerry lets Dez walk!
lol i remember the Dez watch and asking has they talked contract yet

i respect xwalkers opinion and i agree with much
but not Dez
Dez is overpaid because of Dak
if Dez went to Saints or Tampa or Detroit or Atlanta even Philly
a qb that throws 45-50 times every game and has high proficiency
Dez would be near the top in production for the league

only go and watch his amazing career with a accurate slinger like Romo
put the ball on time and give him 60-40 chance and time after time after time he made spectacular plays
enough to be considered as good as megatron at one point

i like Dak but he is still developing fundamental skills
he took a huge step and will likely take another if he continues to work like he has

I think Witten's spleen should be put in the ring of honor, right after we cut him.

If Dez can get elite stats with Drew Brees we need to trade Dez to the Saints because he is a waste of skin for the Cowboys right now. Just a guy.

Loyalty is a good concept for a fan but bad for a GM or coach.

Amen, X...but loyalty does have a place in the football industry. It builds team confidence, but even more, sacrifice for a top shelf place. Can't achieve, without the price paid...

What's clear is that if Dallas did release Dez they'd do so based on his large base salary and perhaps because they found a younger WR to grow with Dak.
So perhaps they would AFTER drafting an R1 WR.
But if they do he will immediately become the best WR available and teams such as ones you just mentioned will quickly give him 10m a year.

What Dallas cannot do is release him pre-draft and hope they can replace him because there isn't a free agent that can do so.
My guess is Dez is here for the duration. He extends and lowers his base and costs us less than remains here until he retires.
Dez is a very big part of the community and his entire family is here.

Yeah. We want him here for what he does off the field, because his on the field stuff isn't all that great anymore.
