What if Romo wants to compete for the starting job next year?

I would argue Garrett should not be the coach if he can't get past the divisional round in the next 2 years. At worse.....Dak will be Russell Wilson...who has been to a couple of Super Bowls. You can win with Dak.
Lol at worse as is dak is better then russell Wilson at all in anyway he is not..

Without reading all nine pages, I think going back to Romo would be the worst possible thing for the long term future of the Cowboys. It will not only remove another year of development for Dak, it would clearly divide a locker room that, by and large, has been won over by Prescott.

Romo handled last season with incredible class even though everybody knew he was dying to play. I can't see both Prescott and Romo co-existing in harmony another season. Can't happen. Won't happen.
So going back to a QB who is 3rd all time in QBR is a bad thing? Explain that one..

I can't elevate Dak over Russell Wilson after 1 year of playing football. Dak has not even won a playoff game. I think Dak will be better than Russell Wilson. I don't have the numbers in front of me...but I think Russell has won at LEAST.....at LEAST...1 playoff game every year he has been in the NFL...and he has been to the Super Bowl TWICE. What are we talking about here?

it is irrelevant as to who would win....the FO chose Dak and Romo is way too good to sit on the bench........just as Dak would be

You can't keep something that valuable as insurance....bad business
Same with paying Leary when we have Collins

Dak dosent even sniff the type of career Wilson had honestly, dangerous russ is to ME the perfect mix a shortstop and a QB lol my lame reasoning and recipe for Wilson success..haha just my opinion

Romo should've competed with himself and challenged himself to get in better shape as he got older. Too bad he didn't do that. Goodbye sir
Where did this come from? Romo is always in great shape. What evidence is there that he isn't?

It would be bad for Dak and the Cowboys as a whole; stats notwithstanding. The last thing you want to do is start playing musical quarterbacks. The locker room will divide into Romo cliques and Prescott cliques.

If Romo has a bad game, do you turn back to Dak? If Dak comes in and does just as poorly, then do you switch back to Romo? What if both guys play great? Do you flip a coin? Having both guys around in 2017 might sound attractive, but the potential for disaster is just too great.

Why would you go backwards and replace dak with Romo, Romo didn't lose his job because of cappy play it was because of injury..

If you just started watching football this year, I can see how someone would think that. Otherwise, no.

If QBs have had better rookie seasons, it's a short list. Obviously part of that is due to the fact that many rookie QBs don't get the opportunity or they get drafted by a terrible team, but nevertheless, not many rookie QB have been better.

Romo trumps anything Dak did or will do. Because Romo never got to play with Zeke. And oh ya, Romo had that 2014 season also. lol.

It depends on what is meant by "greater"... I certainly hope no one here is dumb enough to think passer rating and "all-time" belong in the same sentence. Roger Staubach retired with a passer rating of "just" 83... and that was good enough for #1 all-time in the history of the NFL.

So in other words....you cant really prove that Dak didnt just have the greatest season for a rookie QB in NFL history. Next time just be honest instead of embarrasing yourself.

What happened was you thought everyone else was as clueless as you and would fall for the old passer rating argument, and when that got shut down, all you could say was... "well, you can't prove that he DIDN'T!" Now that's embarrassing...

People have tried to doubt Dak all season. He looked awesome in pre-season and people said "Just wait until he plays a regular season game" Then he looked good in the regular season game and then in several games after that. Then people said "Just wait until he plays a team with a good defense" Then he kicked butt in that game. Then people said, "Just wait until he plays against a team with a winning record" then he did that and kicked butt. Then people said "Just wait until he plays in the playoffs.. it is totally different" then he threw for 303 yard and 3 tds and looked just fine.

Now you are flapping your gums about him struggling next year vs a first place schedule. Please. Dak will be just fine next year. Regardless of how in love you are with Romo.

Not a surprising response from the resident Romo hater on these boards............yea, Dak's stats were great in a playoff LOSS.

just saying.
