What if the Cowboys announced they do not care about playoff wins?

What if they don't announce it and we just accepted as fact since it's been proven for almost 30 years now do we really need a freaking blueprint anymore.
Isn't it pretty evident what's important to Jerry and what's not how can anyone with two brain cells believe a man with that much money can't get what he wants and build a championship team in almost three decades.

Just can't be that important or it would have happened by now

I know this would never happen, but let’s pretend that during a news conference-Jerry and Stephen announce they do not care if they win a single other playoff game if they were guaranteed to be in the playoffs each season.

What would your reaction be to that statement?
Would your interest in the team change at all? Would you still spend money on the team? Throw rotten tomatoes/onions/feces at Jerry and Stephen if given the chance?

Happy Birthday Murica! And I’m sorry if my initial thread upset anyone’s sensibilities so early in the morning.
They kinda already did when Jerry said "we just need to hang around the rim".

That is basically saying that as long as we are in the hunt for the playoffs every year, then its all good.

Exactly.............Jerry has flat out said numerous times that the most important thing is for the Cowboys to be relevant.

That is just a sugar-coated way of saying, "as long as we are in the hunt every year, its all good and we really dont need to do anything else".

Its like waiting till the night before an exam to start studying, sure you want to make an A on that exam, but you really dont want to put in the extra effort and just passing with a C is good enough. Same with the Cowboys, sure Jerry wants to win the SB, but he just doesnt want to do the extra effort when just making the playoffs is good enough.

The Cowboys care enough about playoff wins to make Jerry cry if they fail dramatically to get it. There's a revealing symptom of caring for you. The fact that bad things are happening, despite the lame FO attempts for this management to correct past problems, are just as revealing that better team management should be the desired result. Their endless concentration upon serving their brand takes precedence every time.

Of course, Jerry & Son are stubbornly hanging onto their false pride in their supposed abilities to improve their team, despite the ongoing failures that continue to be a blight upon their sputtering playoff team. It's an organizational setup that's being cursed on a perennial basis. Sadly, they're still apparently content to serve their brand with a far lesser impact upon their team's on-field performance. Football guys, they're not.

Agreed he has decided long ago that it's more profitable to stay in the hunt just stay relevant than it is to truly go all in and risk dropping into the basement for a couple years.

We fans are not interested whatsoever in Jerry Jones generational wealth and his desire to perpetuate it we want to see a super bowl win at all costs.

Jerry has decided that the cost is prohibitive and his son agrees with him and there is a whole another generation of Jones's that have been no doubt Schooled in the same manner.

We don't stand a chance of seeing a super bowl in our lifetime unless one of The offspring decide to sell the team.

The extra effort would mean hiring a real GM and giving up power.

Yeah, but crying about shooting yourself in the foot after you aim the gun at your foot and pull the trigger doesn't mean you didn't mean to shoot yourself in the foot.
