What in the world will they do with Jaylon Smith?

Most of the whiners on here about Jaylon or any other player do not know what their assignments are. But yet feel they must be over critical. A player can’t make every play. Take LVE’s advise he gave to Micah. It is not always your play to make.

I am not sure if he will regain his play from a few years ago or not.
But I will wait until the regular defense is out there with a few games played. Before I even begin to judge him or anyone else.

I refuse to follow someone that whines just to jump on the wagon to be accepted. :lmao:

I said this 6 weeks ago...cutting him and eating the money FAR offsets the distraction of keeping him around and feeling the need to play him out of any "loyalty reasons" or the crazy pipe dream that he may get better....if he is not playing, I'm telling you that he will be a BIG distraction....just get rid of him, so any temptation is 100% removed. He is NOT one of the top 3-4 LB's on the team....playing him in any capacity, is a detriment to the team. Booger needs to sack up and act like a real GM for once....the Defense will instantly be better with him and his Romo jersey far down the road kicking a can...with his drop foot.
He has no drop foot and the rest of your comments are malarkey

Does it make sense to keep him this year and cut a player that they could use and is better than he is?
Thanks to his bad contract, it would cost the team nearly $10 mil in dead cap money to cut him now. If you wait to next year, it drops $4 mil.

I don't think that answers my question. I am fairly certain that they could end up keeping a cheaper player that would be more productive and help the team win.

Well I don’t disagree with you. But I promise you the guy who drafted him in 2016 and signed him to this big contract does.
But what purpose does he serve? What benefit is there to having a player on your roster who hurts the team anytime he's on the field?
The only purpose I can see is giving the idiot GM another year to prove that he was right about Jaylon.

Bob I don’t get it. Why does it matter what the cap hit is. All you gotta do is restructure someone’s deal and absorb the hit. He’s a liability.. it’s like playing with 10.5 guys on defense. cut your loses and move on.

The GM that drafted Parsons and Cox and signed Neal?

Cox had a very good game last night, showing better instincts, speed and tackling ability than Jaylon. He had 2 tackles for loss last night. He looks like a rookie at times, but he is going to be a solid LB for Dallas.
Yeah I thought he showed a lot of promise. He’ll eventually be a starter. Not this year, but in the future.

Sounds easy to just restructure someone else. But you have to be judicious doing that as all you’re doing is kicking the can down the road and limit what you might be able to do at the end of that road.

This isn't about assignments as often he might be in the right place, but just can't react fast enough. Eve. I. This clip his slow change of direction and ack of acceleration, are I. Full display. It took him four steps to change direction and get his body pointing to the right angle and he was slow I. Responding. He is a liability in any type of coverage and can't cover side line to sideline any more
