This is not a joke. After seeing that PHI got something for Maxwell and his contract, what would one year of Carr at 9.1m be worth to a team?

He doesn't want a pay cut and we don't seem to want to cut him outright, so how bout a compromise.

I think we could get a 3rd or 4th. If he hits FA in 2017 he will qualify for a comp pick for whoever trades for him, so potentially they are just renting a draft pick for a couple years.

It looks bad to keep him after all the talk of cutting him for 2 years and tells the rest of the team not to ever re-do your contract even if you under-perform. Doug Free must feel a little stupid for taking his 50% pay cut in 2013. i doubt they would have cut him.

Might get a late second if you trade him with Leary and he agrees to a new contract with his team

Also would havr laughed at you last week. But in light of what the Eagles did, its a good question

Well a lot of people here say that he is too good to cut but not good enough to extend. Not worth the 13.8m cap hit and not worth the 9.1m salary but not easily replaced.

There has to be some kind of value in there somewhere. I can't see us just keeping him and paying full price.

Think he'll be cut after June 1st

this gets into bigger issue I pointed out in another thread. I don't think teams like dealing with Cowboys where that team gives up draft picks or draft slot swaps. Teams are all to happy to trade with Dallas when Cowboys are desperate for player (Seattle & Bills last year). I don't know if this is still issue that's tied to Herschel Walker trade.

But lets look at Eagles. They moved up from #13 to #8 in draft by giving up their trash. Few years ago I remember Eagles getting 2nd round pick for back-up QB Kevin Kolb. Remarkable. The eagles also got 2nd round pick for declining Al Harris CB around that time. Bottom line is I can't remember the Cowboys getting back anything recently for one of their players. Maybe Dallas just falls in love with their own players (thats whole new set of problems if true).

He would have been cut yesterday if they had done anything to replace him. Obviously Corey White and Terrence Mitchell weren't enough.

I think you are on to something.

Most GMs deal with other GMs. It is a tight circle. When they deal with DAL I imagine they have to deal with SJones or JJones and it is a different dynamic.

We don't even get fair value on Draft Day trades. Nobody wants to be taken by DAL.

I feel like this thread is asking for sarcastic replies. Here I'll give it a shot...

Brandon Carr is worth a bag of pistachios and two bus tokens.

Nah but he's probably un-tradeable. Not only has he been worse than you average corner, but he's getting paid like an elite one. If we're restructuring his deal then might as well keep him because we need bodies in the secondary as of now. But yeah unless you pair him with someone, like Leary as I saw mentioned above, then his trade value is below zero.

You have a good point. Jerry overvalued his players I don't think the other NFL teams likes to deal with Dallas because of it. Even in the draft, the Cowboys seems to come out on the bad end of every trade. When it comes to trading Carr, why would anybody want him? No interceptions, he is not a lock-down corner, high cap hit, so I can't see why anyone would want him. It was a bad FA signing by the Cowboys and they have paid dearly for it.
