This isn't the 2007 team that lost all of it's discipline by the playoffs.

How could they know yet that Dallas is so disciplined? They can't.

Everybody, including Florio will figure it out soon enough though.

Truer words have never been spoken. I knew they were going to lose that 1st round game to the giants. They were getting sloppy at the end of the season and when Wade Philips said we already won a playoff game because the bye counts as a victory, I knew we were toast.

At first I thought it was Bret Hart.
Believe it or not - THAT is Mark Stepnoski!

He looks like one of Ozzy's forgotten kids. Dude is just a different cat - but he was a great player.

I thought it was Brett Hart. lol

I mean I know some media people have issues with Dallas for various reasons, but did Dallas run over his dog or something he never seems to come across as unbiased. I know dallas has a monkey but I have never heard him be even remotely complimentary unless it was back handed

Dallas hate always sells. It was true 40 years ago and is still true today.

Eeeexxactly. I was afraid the loss was coming too. I didn't know that the Giants were going to catch fire in the playoffs... but I knew Dallas was cooling off considerably by the end of the season. It didn't surprise me one bit that the team was losing its discipline at the end either. I was just holding my breath, waiting for the patented "Phillips Collapse".

I liked Wade and he is a terrific defensive coordinator... but he isn't ever going to make it as a head coach. He just doesn't have that kind of clout in a locker room.

I knew that the 2007 Cowboys were winning early because they still had a little bit of the Parcells discipline left over from Big Bill, but they had the player's coach environment in the locker room letting the players be themselves.

Early, it was a perfect balance and Dallas won a lot. However, as they got further from Parcells and more into the Phillips era, I knew things would start to deteriorate... and they did. By the end of the season they were playing just plain poorly.

This year is another beast entirely. They are as disciplined as they ever were under Parcells and they respect Garrett just like Bill. However, Garrett is so close to their age and can really relate to all the players. There is that perfect balance that the 2007 team had early... except now, that discipline isn't going anywhere. Actually, as Garrett gets more entrenched in the organization, they are only becoming more disciplined. More focused.

Garrett has done the rebuild almost perfectly. He is great for this team, and neither he, nor the team is going anywhere.

We don't have the recent tradition of winning every year that a team like New England does. So they expect the Cowboys to fall off from the current run.

No big deal. The team just have to prove them wrong.

Bingo! Respect isn't given. It's earned. Over time.
The Cowboys keep winning, they'll get respect.
But we've gone more than two decades with but one playoff win. Can you blame critics for being skeptical?

Yeah, I saw that pic the other day and figured out by reading the article that it was Step.

I wouldn't have guessed that in a million years. Maybe two million.

Exactly. If the Cowboys lose Monday night the Florio's of the world will come out by the thousands to say "I told you so".

They won't exactly be wrong either. A loss to a bad Commanders team at home will have this entire board questioning just how good the Cowboys are.

I love how everyone always thinks the media are out to get us
Seriously.

How is "they may cool off" a jab or a dig or anything. You know what, they just might cool off.

Good grief.

Yes I do blame them.
What has Philly done?
What had Carolina done?
What had Atlanta done?
What had Matt Ryan done?
Jay Cutler?
etc., etc.,
The media has crowned a lot of people/teams that haven't done anything.

Actually get quite a kick out of Florio. He gave Dallas their due this morning on The Fan with a jab about Murray being due to end up injured as he has in the past more or less saying this thing would derail if either him or Romo got hurt. People are waiting for the Devember collapse but they fail to realize that the teams that can consistently run the ball are usually there at the end. I like our chances
