What is Florio's issue with Dallas

Dallas has the most fans in the NFL probably... but all of the other 31 teams combined still have a lot more than that. Since Jerry has been bungling things for years, Florio has been making jokes about Dallas since he started PFT back in the day, and it is an old standby for him. Just make a Joke about Dallas and a ton of people will like it.

Now, Dallas hasn't been good long enough to stop that. He gave them a compliment about Dallas being the hot team right now, but the backhand comment is because all the fans on PFT are still expecting it not to last.

Really, those fans (and Florio) haven't been watching enough to understand that this Dallas team is different from all the other Dallas teams since Jimmy Johnson. Garrett has been a national punch line, so they don't know what a great job Garrett has done changing the culture in Dallas yet. They are kind of figuring it out slowly... but by the end of the year I think everybody will understand that this isn't the same old Cowboys. This isn't the 2007 team that lost all of it's discipline by the playoffs.

How could they know yet that Dallas is so disciplined? They can't.

Everybody, including Florio will figure it out soon enough though.

I can certainly agree with some of this...just the way they play defense confirms their more disciplined approach this year. It remains to be seen what they will do, but if they do find themselves in a similar position as 2007, then I expect them to advance...Romo is wiser, the running game is the staple, and the defense has more scrap, even if it might have less talent (Jacques Reeves was awful in that game). It still perturbs me re-watching that '07 game...you go on a back-breaking 20 play drive and then you throw it all way in less than a minute...just an atrocious collapse on defense that foreshadowed how things would go in the second half. Granted they did not have the defense to beat NE, they still should have advanced to the title game at least.

Sadly, this team has shot itself in the foot so many times, it has created the prevailing sentiment that they are a team that chokes when December rolls around...tough to change the narrative in only half a season.

I listen to his podcast a lot and never got the impression he was a Cowboys hater and I'm normally oversensitive about these things. Florid is very good at talking about contracts or legal issues. Never really got the hate for him, but I don't read his stuff so maybe thats different.

One of the best posts I have read this year. What is happening right now is why I am so excited to see this second half of the season unfold.

For the first time we have an opportunity, as fans, to see the results of a strategic rebuilding plan. Will it work and propel this team beyond a second half let down?

Cowboys football is once again exciting to watch. Not because of the winning, but because of the unexpected. They are exceeding all of my expectations!
