What is going on with Marc Cuban/Mavs?

Over and under on how long it will take to rebuild the Mavs is ( to contend for a championship):

I haven't been keeping up with the mavs since 2011. All I know is I was wrong about chandler parsons. I really thought he was going to big corner stone for the team after how the team broke up. I really wanted Darren Williams the year he went to Brooklyn, wrong about him too.

I was right there with you....I was also wrong about Parsons and Williams.
 
Mavs get Nerlens Noel for Bogut.
Let Deron Williams walk to CLE.

I like this trade but I just hope we can re-sign him or its just a very short term rental.......and now I dont know whether to root for a playoff push and lose that lottery pick or keep losing and keep the pick.....we get lucky enough to get in the top 10 and get a PG, along with Noel all of a sudden the post Nowitzki era doesnt look so bleak.....

Noels = RFA

Root for lotto pick. Very deep draft this year. Dont think you will get in Fulton/Ball range, but you can definitely get a cornerstone player.

As a Celtics fan, I wanted Noels. Reminds me a bit of Tyson Chandler

Top 19 protected #1. Which turns into two #2's if its outside 19. Pretty good value for a young talented rebounder/rim. You guys bought low on him. There was talk in Boston of Smart or Bradley for Noel during preseason. Also having a down year, you can get him on a very good contract most likely.

I was interested in Boguts expiring deal ( or voidable), but we dont have a 1st this year outside the Nets swap, and Noel is a better offer them a 2018 late first even giving up the two #2's

Very nice, young addition.
Barnes is a good puzzle piece too.
But they eventually need a bonifide star though, now that Dirk is 3-4 years past his prime.

Ive had my season tickets too long to give them up. I just get a few partners nowadays, as I dont have i terest in going to a ton of games at that price. Plus Cubes has been irritating the crap out of me.

I want Dallas to get Smart.
Local kid and plus defender. Needs to work on offensive output obviously.
Noel likely gets the baby max for first timers.
Just the way these things work even if he's hardly proven.

But from a Mavs standpoint getting a defensive center/anchor and and a chance to land one of the 4-5 PGs in this lottery could be very, very appealing.

Seth Curry is a player too. Ideally a 6th man perhaps but he's a real NBA player they unearthed.

Def more fun watching this group than it has been in years.

Getting younger for sure.

I'd prefer they get in the lottery though. They keep this up and they'll squeak into the playoffs for a quick elimination.
