Smart has been improving each year. He has the potential to be a Rondo/Jrue Holloway in there. Don't know if he can be as lock down as Rondo was in his prime, but he can do something Rondo couldnt and thats defend the 3 at a high level. Has aa much better pure shot then Rondo, just needs to be more consistent. Its probably going to take alot for us to deal, Ainge is very high on him.I want Dallas to get Smart.
Local kid and plus defender. Needs to work on offensive output obviously.
Noel likely gets the baby max for first timers.
Just the way these things work even if he's hardly proven.
But from a Mavs standpoint getting a defensive center/anchor and and a chance to land one of the 4-5 PGs in this lottery could be very, very appealing.
Seth Curry is a player too. Ideally a 6th man perhaps but he's a real NBA player they unearthed.
Def more fun watching this group than it has been in years.
I honestly have no real idea as Dallas never drafts anyone.Smart has been improving each year. He has the potential to be a Rondo/Jrue Holloway in there. What PG do you think Dallas would favor in the draft? I think we would go Fulton if we land #1. Both Thomas and Bradley are FA's after 2018, I think we will keep one, not both. Bradley likely walks IMO
I think he may extend Smart and let Bradley walk. Bradley is better right now, but he has hit his ceiling. Smart is also a facilitator, and more of a true point than Thomas. Though I think this decision is going to be heavily influenced by how the lottery goes, and if they hold the pick. Dont think they pass on Fulton if they get #1. If they wind up drafting Smith, they may hold Bradley and trade Smart. In this draft, I would take your deal for Smart.I honestly have no real idea as Dallas never drafts anyone.
This is all new for this front office.
I suspect Dennis Smith (all-around game and defense means he could play early) but honestly as Dallas looks like it might pick about 8th to 11th you just take whomever is left over.
I've seen Smart play in the local high school gym a ton, he's a tough, hard-playing guy.
Can score but it's not all smooth; it's grit.
Dallas would prolly be offering a top 10 pick this year and Dwight Powell for Smart.
I'm guessing they'd have to take back a bad contract or 2 to make it work.
Ainge is very patient so not likely to happen.
issue now is they are winning too much. almost prefer they lose out.I think he may extend Smart and let Bradley walk. Bradley is better right now, but he has hit his ceiling. If you guys wind up, 8-10, you are still going to get a very very good building block. Issacs, Williams, Monk, Fox should all be in play. If you make out well in the lotto, you may be able to get Tatum. This is one of the deepest drafts I remember. And if they dont have a turnaround in the win column, next years is supposed to be just as good
team is fun to watch. What's up Mavs fans. Are we pumped for next season
