1. When it comes to winning it all what is more important? The QB or the team around the QB? The other parts of the team.

Lets either keep coaching out of it or assume we have a quality coach.
you have to have good QB to have a chance. its much easier to build that way. SF did it by building a top notch defense, needed a lot of pieces, still paid 100 M to Grapolo to throw only 8 passes in a playoff game...

has it been done? yes, Ravens did it with Dilfer..... Ravens did it again with Flacco. Denver did it with Manning, when he was slightly above average. all had really really really good defenses. the rest do it with Coaching and QB play. the most two important parts of winning in the NFL.

100% this..

If Patrick Mahomes is your QB then you can trot just about whatever around him and he will make it work..

Dak... You can put a bad team around him and he will get you 7-8 wins at best. That’s the ceiling.

The problem with Dak and fans on this website is they still think decent QB play is so hard to find and drafting a QB in round 1 is still this big scary thing. It’s not.

We just signed a QB this weekend that if Dak sits out that we don’t lose a whole lot on the field,if anything at all, and there is no way Dak is 32 million a year better than Dalton.

Lol

It’s not a “big scary thing” you’re just using hyperbole.

Drafting a first round QB just isn’t the guaranteed success that you claim it to be either. There is zero evidence that it’s a guarantee. It’s actually a coin flip If whether a first round QB will be good or not. That’s a fact. Yet you refuse to admit that fact and would rather use hyperbole and make things up.

I agree. He's getting better too. I was just looking at his first 4 compared to Brady:

One stat you are missing, probably the most important one. Brady had 3 superbowls in his first 4 years, Dak none.

Dilfer catches a lot of flack. He was not a great QB, but he was a pro bowler. He threw for over 150 yards and a TD with a a QBR of 80 in the super bowl.

Ben Rothlesberger won a SB with a QBR of 22.6. Peyton Manning won a super bowl with a 56.6 QBR.
You may win the game without a QB, but to get through the season, the playoffs, and win the SB, you need a QB.

There is zero evidence any position is guaranteed in the 1st round..

Stop being scared of drafting QBs.

Decent QBs, like Dak, are not some rarity either.. We just signed one.

Pay Dak 10 million a year to build a TEAM around him....

Ya didn't think so as in your world there is no cap in the NFL.

Every good team needs a QB that fits their scheme and personnel. Some need to be great and some need to drive the bus.

Team.

Having an “elite” QB but having below average receivers, RB, OLine, DLine, CB’s, etc etc. That QB will never win with a subpar team.

One person on a team sport cannot carry the load and consistently win.

Nobody is scared. Stop with the hyperbole. You’re the one that keeps arguing it’s easy to find an upgrade in the first round and consistently and repeatedly refuse to admit the fact that at least 50% of the QB’s drafted in the first round, wind up being worse QB’s than Dak is. Which is a fact.

Its been proven that you don't need a good QB. You can win with an average one or a below average one. Plenty of GREAT QB's don't win anything EVERY year. QB is the most important position, but that's all they are.

So you focus on the TEAM and roll with the best QB you can find. Dumbest thing you can ever do is run your franchise based on how good your QB is.

Romo is your QB until someone comes along that is better. And you pay him until you have someone better. Same with Dak or anyone else.

These statements are just dumb. How can you expect anyone to take you serious if you say nonsense like this?

How many years did it take the Cowboys to find Romo after Aikman? How many years did the Bengals go without a quality QB before Dalton? How many years could they NOT find anyone better than Dalton?

Niners? Browns?

Its those type of football dumb comments that make posters look like they have no idea about the QB position.

How many QB's drafted every year become top 10 QB's? Its less than 1 per year. Even if its 1 per year, there are 32 teams.

QB but you can win either way.

I just think its harder to have a top team anymore. There are always holes but you can have a top QB and they can carry a team
