Plenty of talk on these forums are about what our weaknesses are and how we can remedy them, I figured a more optimistic discussion of what our biggest asset as a team is. What do y'all think?

Got to go with Tyron since he plays an extremely important position, has youth on his side, and is already verging on elite at his position.

As crazy as this sounds I would have to say the young OLineman - Tyron, Fred, Leary and Free...pretty good group overall and a pleasant surprise - especially Free. He went from horrible to pretty solid last year.

This isn't going to go over well on here but I would have to include Bailey - with the current parity that is present in the league - a good kicker can be the difference between 6-10 and 10-6. Ducking now......

The team is loaded with weaknesses which is why that topic generates so much discussion. This thread was started yesterday and this is the 4th response which tells you there's not many positives to talk about.

Our assets are our youth at certain positions with players that with proper coaching and development could be the best at their positions. Tryon, Frederick, Escobar, Lee, Mo, Carter, Wilcox, Selvie, Bryant, TWill, Murray.

Unfortunately Dallas does not have the coaching stag to refine these players and they will continue to be raw talent until they are done here.

Law of averages, secret sauce recipes, glory holes and we are one swing away from that magical pot of gold those darn leprechauns have been looking for....

Most GM's in the league view QB, LT, and CB as the 'premium positions'. There is some discrepancy on the 3rd spot, some think it's CB, some WR, some ILB. Depends on the team's scheme and their overall philosophy.

Romo used to be, but now he's 32 with a questionable back.

So I have to go with Tyron, he's 21 and looks to be an anchor for our blind side for the next decade or so. It's not sexy, I know - but speaking in terms of value and a true asset, it's gotta be the big fella.

Romo (when healthy), Smith for the future bc of the premium position he plays...DEZ because he is the only freak able to take over (win) games.

The Star on the helmet.....it keeps folks engaged in anything Cowboy related.

For players gotta go with Smith.

An extremely big high definition screen hanging at midfield.

Romo & Dez, now with a new play caller, Callahan focusing more on the OL, Dez will benefit from this.
Murray, he will benefit was Dez's success, just stay healthy.
OL, just need another guard yet.
Terrance Williams progress, but need to replace Austin too.
Would like to see the progress of Hanna and Escobar now since Polk in on the staff.

Resigning Baily a huge plus.

Making the change now on promoting Marinelli to DC, Kiffin as "consultant", which I believe was the plan from the start.
Other than that, not much on the defense, can only wait and see, too many returning from injuries, need players.
But the bright spots are some rookies and 2nd year players can step up and be better.
Claiborne, Wilcox, even Johnson still, see if Crawford and Bass can provided depth on DL, as I don't see them as starters at this point.

*Field goal and extra point kicker
*Fergie and T. Smith on the O line
*Murray (when he is allowed to run)
*Romo, when he does not thow into double/triple coverage or is suddenly injured before the last (important) game of the season.
*Dez when he get better hands and when he does not let his emotocons get in the way of his focus.

Smith, Frederick, Murray, Bryant. Those are the only "sure things" we can definitely count on as being dependable right now.
