What is the Greatest Hard Rock/ Metal Song Ever?

Honestly I have no idea what he was saying. Something about drugs and law enforcement and the Pope

Now if you think about, that all does have the makings of a pretty sick metal song
If I remember correctly, he was accusing someone (Tobascocat?) of supporting drug use, and was saying really off the wall stuff, just because he (Tobascocat?) didn't agree with his choice of Joe Cocker. It was really bizarre.

I'm very well aware of the song. I'm also aware that it's neither hard rock nor metal. That's almost as ridiculous as Jethro Tull winning the Grammy for "Best Heavy Metal Album" over Metallica.

BTW, that's not even the best version of the song. The original Beatles rendition is far superior.
In all fairness to Jethro Tull, they did do great Hard Rock.

The Heavy Horses album has sat in the shadows of Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, Songs from the Woods, etc. Vastly underrated. This is one of its more edgy, prog heavy metal songs. Interestingly, it has haunting lyrics on a similar theme to "Enter Sandman". Great guitar/drum intro. One of my favorite albums of theirs.

Hard rock, yes. Heavy metal?...No.

I guess it depends on one's interpretation of "heavy metal". Or what defines heavy metal? To me, heavy metal with its many sub-genres incorporates guitar distortion, emphatic percussion, a heavy bass melody to name some. No Lullaby has all of those. With the addition flute, organ, and numerous time signature changes; it lends itself to what I would consider prog heavy metal. But this only applies to a few Tull songs. They cross many genres. All IMHO, of course.
