Hope and optimism are great but in order for me to buy into that there HAS TO BE a foundation.

You can build a house and have hope and optimism that’s it’s a great house. But if built on loose, muddy foundation. What do you have really?

I don’t believe Jones family is solid foundation.

I will wait and see how it all shakes out over the next few months. Too much to digest right now, as well, thoughts are all over the place, including what to do with Dak and QB position going forward. Though I lean to getting him signed.
 
it should be up tempo...no-huddle offense getting the ball out quickly to WR3.

If you’re asking in a non-rhetorical way,

-Offensive line back healthy with depth. If we re-sign Erving or draft a T in rounds 3-4 I think we have more than enough depth. Knight showed he could be a capable swing and Steele improved over the course of the year. Resigning Looney or drafting/developing another interior lineman wouldn’t hurt either.

-Dak. Nuff’ said.

-Invest every resource on defense. A new DC, 2 DEPENDABLE mid-range veteran FA’s, and 6 picks in the first 5 rounds. If we can do this we can go from terrible to average at least in an offseason. With the O healthy that’s all we need is average plus turnovers.

Roster wise it’s not a terribly long way to go if the decisions are made correctly. It just all hinges on if MM will help or hurt us, can’t win big without a coach in this league. With his history he makes a significant leap in year 2, so we’ll see.

The Jones family is quicksand.
 
The best thing we got going for us is our division is terrible but Washington is a QB away from owning this division for awhile.
 
Status is "wait and see". Players who've had surgery, can they sign Dak, who do we want to re-sign, and can we re-sign them and what will the cap in 2021 be, among other things.

Direction?

Their status is: 6-10
Their direction- Up to 8-8 if they draft well enough and get some main offensive guys back healthy
 
I believe a large portion of Zone fans are mistaken in thinking that return from injury, Dak and no covid will drastically impact next year's record.

I do not.

I believe a head coach and DC are needed. I would just say whole staff but it's obvious Moore is Jerry's choice.

I do not believe in paying Dak but the Cowboys will and this will further add to the downward spiral regarding unvailable money for much needed Free agent contracts.

I see a strong downward trend for this team for the next 3 to 5 years.

I think we are in decent shape. Assuming we sign Dak (which I don't want but will happen), with the return of the OL, and Jarwin, the O can score on anyone. D is a little more concerning. I would have fired Nolan before he got back to the locker room yesterday but I doubt he gets fired at all. We can improve a lot though on D with a good draft and a really good off season of learning. We need 1 DT, 1 LB and 2 DB (1 CB and 1 Safety) of starting quality out of the draft. We get those and I think we can be at least middle of the road D which is really all that is needed or should be needed with the O we have.
 
Jerruh as already said that Jaylon is one of the foundation pieces of the team. That alone gives me little hope
