I saw the 49ers head coach do it on Sunday and then Del Rio last night. It looks dumb. Sure they used to do that stuff, but that is ancient history.

Eh...I like it. They could wear better suits though. Nolan was wearing a suit made by Reebok for chrissakes.

I disagree. I think it looks classy. Every other sport besides baseball has their coaches wear suits.

And Del Rio.

Its part of an agreement between the NFL and Reebok (the official sponsor).

If anyone else can do it they will be forced to wear suit BY Reebok.

These 2 coaches are the test dummies for this experiment.

Other sports play indoors or the coaches can sit under canopies like in soccer. I know I wouldn't want to stand outside in the cold/rain/snow with a suit on.

I also like it. I still rmember the first few coaches I saw wearing athletic gear, it looked terrible.

Although, I don't know if Reebok would want Big Bill advertising for them or not. :) Does Reebok make a suit for men with moobs?

Plus its dirty on the natural fields. Nolan was wearing some type of golf shoes.

I didnt think they looked half bad tho.

What don't you like about it? I mean Landry would have looked wrong in anything other than a suit and the hat.

I love the suits. It's honoring the tradition. Looks a lot better than a certain coach up north that wears the required team apparel, but it's a gray rutty looking sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off.

Show some class.

While were on the subject of coaches/managers and outfits, I could never figure out why baseball managers have to "suit up" in the complete players uniform, its not like they are going to sub in for one of there players, and it would be ridiculous for the other sports leagues (NFL, NBA, NHL) to have their coaches get dressed like their players.

Landry is from a bygone era. He wore a fedora, do you think the coaches should wear fedoras too?

In the old days, coaches weren't wired up, didn't wear head sets they certainly clash with suits etc.

People wear suits on a daily basis in my profession. No one wears fedoras.

They've been wearing headsets for a long time, they just were not wireless. They usually had some wire guy walking around behind them keeping the line from getting tangled up. It also gave the coach someone to scream at who couldn't run away.

And yes, I think they should all wear a fedora. :D
