What is wrong with Dak?

In addition the team can use the money saved from paying Prescott to keep/bring in a couple of blue chip players thus maintaining/strengthening the roster that we have already seen go 5-1 in the last two seasons with a practice squad QB.
Exactly, I agree completely. The stronger the team the less the QB has to do.

I think he needs to run with the ball more, particularly in the red zone. I know it increases the risk of injury, but I think we have to take that chance. I also think we need to throw the ball down the field more, if it leads to interceptions then again, I think we need to take that chance and live with the consequences.

Agree on both counts especially as the Cowboys have a good defense so lean on them to make a play following a pick.

He looks like 2006 Drew Bledsoe, old and inaccurate. At this point he is a liability.
Wow, it’s funny you say that because it summarizes the point I’ve been trying to make in several threads. In 2006 Drew Bledsoe threw an interception at the 2 yard line against New York at the end of the half. At half time Parcells benched him for Romo. When asked about it he said a veteran QB should not be making that mistake. Another quote was Drew played like a rookie and if we’re going to have rookie mistakes let’s see what the kid (Romo) can do.

That’s exactly where I’m at with Dak. Physically he’s falling off and he’s making rookie mistakes. He’s basically Drew Bledsoe in 2006 and we may win some regular season games with him but we’re not doing anything special. So play this year out with Dak, if we do what we normally do in the playoffs then make him a June cut and try Lance or draft someone.

I am really not trying to bash Dak here. I genuinely root for him but I've became very frustrated with his play over the years. And he has seemed to have regressed since his rookie season.
Let's break down Dak and evaluate what he does well and what he doesn't do well.
he is not elite, and as a result, struggles at times, sometimes more than others. inconsistent as some say. so as a result, we expect high level of play from a QB who can't produce it consistently.

His reads and ball placement are terrible this year. He’s not comfortable with the offense or his throwing mechanics. I don’t think he worked on his game much in the offseason.

The defense lost the game but Prescott didn't win the game. Look at the Giants game the week before. Cardinals scored 28 points and had big leads in both games. They rushed for over 150 yards and Dobbs threw for almost 230 yards yet Daniel Jones was able to help the offense score 31 points in the second half behind a putrid offensive line and pull out the W. DJ actually justified his contract in a game he could help the team win by making enough plays.

No doubt Prescott will ball out against gash teams when the defense dominates creating multiple turnovers and giving the offense outstanding field position...but then a practice squad QB like Cooper Rush wins those games as well as we all saw last season so what's the point paying Prescott? He's like a kid playing QB on his school team because his dad is the coach. All the other kids know he's the weak link on the team but they just have to toe the line as if they say anything (Dez, Cooper, etc) they will be moved on. How much longer will Parsons keep quiet...

Lance is an unknown. Lance had one full college season and 4 NFL games. I don’t see why everyone is so quick to dismiss him without seeing him play a down for us.
We will see him next year in preseason. He simply isn't ready to see any snaps this year. Just wait until the off season hit. We will see a new START LANCE thread every day.

There's a list of things that contributed to the loss, but it's like talking to a wall around here.

Seems to me they would bootleg Dak more like in earlier seasons. And why does Dak rarely run anymore? Even in situations where he really has a good shot of getting lots of yards.
Dak absolutely needs to use his legs more for us to be successful especially when things are tough and not going well.
It's the one thing he's capable of doing that can elevate the whole team.

When we struggle and other parts of the team are not doing their job. He is just not the guy that can consistently raise the team above everyone else's mistakes with his arm but with his legs he can definitely make a difference.
He just doesn't choose to do it anymore probably afraid of injury
On occasion he has a real good run but in situations like when we're stalled in the red zone and the ball absolutely needs to go in the end zone this is when he needs to use his leg some like early in his career when he would have many touchdowns rushing in a season

He's an above average quarterback in today's realm of quarterbacks. Nothing more nothing less. 8-12 range QB or even argurably 15 range that all can be shuffled around to achieve similar results. Not a game changer

That's who he was and always will be. There was a slight hope of taking the next step prior to his injury and that is all but gone now.

Will have mvp level games to looking like Cooper rush the next.

And as I said from day 1 he's a product of the talent around him

Cant read defences
Does not set his feet
Does not have touch
Does not throw with anticipation
Cant run anymore
Brain freeze when pressured

Otherwise hes a “great leader” and “can talk a chsmpionship game”
