I am really not trying to bash Dak here. I genuinely root for him but I've became very frustrated with his play over the years. And he has seemed to have regressed since his rookie season.
Let's break down Dak and evaluate what he does well and what he doesn't do well.
What's wrong with him? Maybe ask what's wrong with our offense. Last game we played with 3 starting OL out. We no longer have the Cooper, Gallup, CD Lamb crew. Dak is good but limited. Don't expect our current offense to be lighting anyone up.

Dak has never been good at throwing into the endzone from the 10 yardline in. He can throw fades and quick outs along the goalline, but don't expect any slants into the middle. That's just not him.

Nothing at all. He played well sunday consistently extending drives on 3rd and long with both his legs and the pass.

you people just have no idea what your watching.

only thing wrong with dak is he isnt mahomes.
The stats say otherwise, he was outplayed by someone in the league 5 years and just got his first win as a QB. Just like last year in the playoffs were he was outplayed by Mr. Irrelevant.

Seems to me they would bootleg Dak more like in earlier seasons. And why does Dak rarely run anymore? Even in situations where he really has a good shot of getting lots of yards.
I imagine Dak only running on rare occasions is a decision made by him and the team to avoid injury. I get the part where Dak doesn’t want to run, but the coaches and FO should be wanting Dak to run on the regular. Dak is a better QB than Rush but ONLY because he adds a different dimension through his strong running style. If they are both pure pocket passers I see no discernible difference between the two (heck Rush may be better in that comparison). IOW, we should be having Dak run a ton. You don’t want him to get hurt, but it’s worth the risk to win games.

He does produce it consistently. You clearly just dont watch other football games.
there are times that he does. there are times he fails and you scratch your head. that's the inconsistency. its not a criticism. he is not elite, as a result he will make mistakes that an elite QB wouldn't. I don't complain about him not being elite like most others do.

His reads and ball placement are terrible this year. He’s not comfortable with the offense or his throwing mechanics. I don’t think he worked on his game much in the offseason.
I agree. he seems a bit unsure. I don't think he and Cook are on the same page yet. we miss Schultz more than we will admit. the highlights of Ferguson as second TE made us drool, but as primary TE he is leaving a lot to be desired.

I also think some of the play designs specially inside redzone need to be worked on.

Well what's really wrong is your interpretation of how he's playing.

The idea that he has REGRESSED since his rookie season is comically wrong.

I think his biggest problem last week was not being a good tackler and getting pushed around all game. He was also poor in the red zone but man the play calling in the red zone was ****** IMO...again...

Nothing wrong with Dak...he is who we thought he was. Same with Kirk Cousins. Nothing wrong with him per se, but he always tease you...never satisfy you. As a 4th round pick should.

I think his rookie season was the perfect storm for him. Had a great O-line and running game with a young and fresh Zeke. Now that the O-Line is good, not great and the running game is good and not great, Dak can not make up the difference with his talent or play. He is a slightly better than average QB who is going to kill you a few times during the season and one more dagger in the heart come playoff time.

Good things about Dak
- Great leader
- Extreme work ethic
- Throws well on the run
- Good at presnap reads
- Runs strong when he decides to
- Knows the offense

Unfortunate things about Dak
- Struggles with pocket presence (WC has helped with this)
- Almost never throws the ball away
- Struggles to see field in zone post snap (WC has helped with this)
- Inconsistent accuracy/touch at all levels (WC has amplified this weakness)
- Struggles with anticipation throws
- Always seems to wait 2 seconds too long before deciding to scramble

Summary
- Every time we play from behind, you are going to be frustrated with Dak. Playing from behind forces him to hang in the pocket, make tight, anticipatory throws, and read complex zone defenses. Those are ALL weaknesses for him.
- I think the coaching staff has modified the offense to give him the best chance to play well as long as he plays with a lead. He needs a strong defense and OL to play well.
- McCarthy running the ball so much in the last 8 minutes of the Cards game shows that he understands Dak’s limitations, and is trying to limit Daks weaknesses.
- Dak cannot overcome a bad game from his defense. He is not a ‘carry the team’ QB.
- All of these traits existed in his Mississippi State scouting report. He’s still that QB.
- In the NFL, he is a top 15 QB and waffles between top 8 and bottom 10 play depending on game circumstances. Over time, better young players will slowly push him down in rankings (Love, Hurts, Tua, Class of 2024, etc)

Do I personally think he should be resigned? No. The value he provides would not match the $ he demands. I would only resign him with intent to waive the no trade clause to trade him, but I doubt that’s on the table.
