What is wrong with Romo?

The excitement and improvisation is gone. He doesnt make big plays any more.

Is it coaching or another one of Jerry's kids that gets a huge contract and dials it in?

Some might say he's been neutered by Garrett & the rest of the apes upstairs.

Others might say his past failures have him shook.

I really dont know what it is. I'd take Tony against Denver every week. If you make mistakes you make mistakes but you cant be scared to take chances, which is how it looks like he is playing, afraid.

He's playing smart football. I'm all for this "new Romo".

He realizes he's 33 and isn't as athletic as he used to be.

He also realizes that at age 33 he's more prone to getting injured if he does take a big hit, so he's avoiding those. Took him less than 1 half of football in Week 1 to be reminded of that. And without Romo, this team has no chance.

Finally, he realizes that he must protect the ball better if we're going to ever be a great team. 22 turnovers last year, 8 turnovers this year. Mission accomplished.

Now if only we could field a decent defense.

Coaching more than anything in my opinion. Garrett's system is what it's always been; predictable, unimaginative and reactionary. Throw in the influence of Bill Callahan and it gets even worse.

He is satisfied with where he is at. 2 big deal contracts , +60 mill and 100+, a gm that supports him 100%, never had to earn or try hard to keep his job. This guy is a made man why should he work hard ? This guy know his job is secure for another 2 years and have a guaranteed 50 million to look forward to.

Do you guys remember last year when everyone thought Romo would take a "friendly" deal ?... Sure it was friendly top paid ffriendly , esp for a qb who really hasn't done much but pad a qb rating.

Considering this is by far his beast season, nothing. Only Romo could have something wrong with him because he isn't throwing picks. Romo is on pace for a career high in TDs and low in INTs...something must be wrong with him! Good Lord, some of our fans...

Romo hasn't been taking shots down the field his passing yards and completion average is down compared to previous seasons. He's on pace to pass for under 4000 yards for the first time other than in 2010 when he missed 10 games. His completion average is 7.1 which is the lowest of his career. It's obvious the plan heading into this season was to keep his int's down.

He had 19 int's in 2012 and only 7 so far this season. Keeping his int's down has also kept down the number of big plays in the passing game. There's been a lot of dinking and dunking. As bad as the defense is the Cowboys are going to have open up the passing game like they did against Denver and outscore opponents the final 3 games.

Here's a surprising stat:

Romo's TD/INT in the Cowboys 7 wins is 12/6 and his TD/INT in the Cowboys 6 losses is 15/1.

Take away his game against Denver where he had 5 TD's and 1 INT he had 10 TD's and ZERO INT in the other 5 losses.
