What is your confidence in the defense going forward?

For me.. We can handle most teams but the elite QB's like Rodgers scare me. Especially when they are mobile.

Matt Ryan is good but i'm more worried about Julio and their backfield then I am Ryan.

I think we can handle Seattles offense pretty easy. No run game, no OL, and a QB that is a little more athlete then he is skilled passer.

Just avoid Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs. That's all I ask. That guy has our number on the big stage.

Derek Carr, Rodgers, and Brady are the only QB's that I hope to avoid.

Are there any defenses who don't want to avoid that trio? Even that Seattle defense looked pretty bad in the second half.

I'm not sold on this D, but that was a dominant performance. McAdoo's (or Eli's) decision to pad some stats on that last drive makes it a look a **little** better, but before that the yards were 392-173! That's an azz woopin no matter how bad the Giant OL is. And these two teams very rarely get azz wooped by one another.

I agree on Rodgers and Brady, but the more I watch Carr the more I'm convinced he's not yet elite. He's pretty good, but he has accuracy issues at times. It's probably mechanical (as with Dak when he goes awry) but it happens enough that he doesn't belong in the same sentence with the other two.

On a scale of 1 - 10 what is your confidence going forward?

I'd have to say i'm at a solid 7.

Every unit played well.

Also, when these young DB's get some games under their belt and we get David Irving back we will be even better.

I understand ODB didn't play but I can't imagine 1 player that isn't a QB helping them move it up and down the field better.
After the Packers game - 0.

-2

Sean Lee can only do so much, assuming he can even stay on the field. Inexperience in the secondary and an outdated, passive scheme will lead to perpetual frustration in games where the offense puts up points. In games where they don't, we'll probably get blown out.

If we make the playoffs we will lose because of them so 0

This was game one. I don't think you can ever tell too much about a team until at least game three or four of the regular season. But I get really tired of the way people insist on moving the goal posts for this team. Before last night it was all about how the Giants had added a slew of weapons for Eli to throw to and how the stupid cowboys let a bunch of defensive starters walk in free agency. Now it's, oh, ODB didn't play. The Cowboys took advantage of a crappy offensive line. Let's wait and see what they do against a real offense. And when the team continues to stifle the run and hold teams under 20 points people will just keep on kicking the can on down the road. I think it's time to consider that maybe, just maybe, Jerry, Steven, Jason, Rod and the rest of the coaches know what the heck they're doing.
Lol

Look we all new that this defense is a work in progress. Our pass rush is much better than last year. Our rookies are going to get better as the season goes along. We can just hang and win some games we could do some damage at the end of the year. Getting Hitchens and Irving are huge. Injuries and suspensions have killed us this year. Maybe we can start to gell if everyone is back healthy. I am confident that we will be okay.

This post isn't aging well.

I read the first post, didn't realize it was resurrected from week 1, and thought you were drunk.
