The neatest was the fumbleroski. I have only seen it done once in a college bowl game if not mistaken it was Neb vs Miami

I LOVE the RB option pass, always have. Dan Reeves used to do it back in the day and was pretty good at it. Calvin Hill was another one who actually threw a good pass. Robert Newhouse & Ron Springs made some big plays for us with it including a TD pass to Danny White.

I cannot understand why teams don't run this play more often, especially if you have a guy that can throw well.

When we had guys like Woody Dantzler and Beau Morgan (both college QBs) I thought that was how we would use them but instead we kept trying to convert them into Safetys.

My next favorite gadget play is the fake punt. There are so many times when the other team turns and runs back to cover the punt and I always think, "why didn't someone tell the punter to just run it?" since there is no one left to tackle him.

I remember seeing Reeves do it a few times myself. It is a great play because the safety sees the run and will normally come up in support once he does that the WR is normally by himself and the safety is having to turn and try to catch back up to the play.

Definitely the flea flicker. I think we ran one on third and short in overtime against the Skins a few years back, to the Rocket. It was sweet.

I believe the qb fakes a pass then hands off to the rb but I'm not sure.

My favorite play is the Annexation of Puerto Rico

once we hire Rick Moranis to be our coach, I'm sure we will see this being used readily

I don't mean to bring up the Bruce Coslet tenure, but I loved that play where the TE would fall to the ground on a block while the QB rolled out in the opposite direction drawing pursuit then the TE would always be wide open.

That's funny because my roomate (a Bears fan) and I call that the "Bruce Coslet play." Every time I see that play run, it works like a charm.

I was thinking the same thing...

And you can never go wrong with the flea-flicker. I still get the warm and fuzzies over the Bledsoe to Glenn one during the KC game...

Some plays that nobody has mentioned:

1. RB option play - QB hands it off to the RB, Running back then pitches it to the other back running alongside him.

2. Hook and Ladder

3. Shovel Pass

4. Quick kick

5. Fake Punt

6. Fake Field Goal

7. Drop kick

8. QB acts like he can't hear the play coming in, walks towards the sideline and the ball is snapped to the running back and catches the defense off guard.

9. Direct snap to RB

10. Double Reverse (although I hate the play)

11. Reverse/End around

12. Reverse into a Flee Flicker

That's about all I could think of.

The best was Robert Newhouse in the super bowl.

Yes sir it was a thing of beauty. Newhouse hitting Golden Richards in stride to pretty much cap off the SB victory over the orange crush.
