anyone where the QB goes out as a receiver.

I love seeing qb's catch passes.

I don't mean to bring up the Bruce Coslet tenure, but I loved that play where the TE would fall to the ground on a block while the QB rolled out in the opposite direction drawing pursuit then the TE would always be wide open.

I was thinking the same thing...

And you can never go wrong with the flea-flicker. I still get the warm and fuzzies over the Bledsoe to Glenn one during the KC game...

Wasn't there a play where a team would break huddle and somebody would run off the field as if he wasn't supposed to be there for that formation, but just as he was about to reach the sideline, the ball would be snapped and he would run a fly along the sideline?

(And wasn't that trickery then banned by rule by the NFL? Does anybody remember what I'm talking about?)

No doubt its the flea flicker. When the Cowboys ran it against the Chiefs and Drew hit TG wide open for the TD to keep the game close, I was going insane. Most exciting play in football, if you ask me.

Greatest trick play ever in the first football game I ever remember watching, 1991 Holiday Bowl between A&M and BYU. Bucky Richardson tosses the ball on a sweep, then runs out and catches a wide open 20 yard touchdown pass from the RB.

Halfback pass. I wish Dallas would have ran that when Emmitt was in his prime. As much attention he would draw everytime he touched the ball you would figure the WR or TE would have been wideopen for a big gainer.

I agree. You can see in the film the fans all standing up before Bledsoe even lets the ball go. Great stuff.

Someone beat me to it.

I think that one play was responsible for half the yardage that season. LOL

I even saw Bill use it with success. Always seems to catch someone napping.

There is one play called the "38 Special" that I wish Parcells would run again the ResStinks in the first game!

I don't know if it's legal, but it's a play where at the snap of the ball...all the Olinemen step three feet back, pull out 38 Specials loaded with hollow point rounds, and blow the entire RedStink defense away, right then and there!

Game over...for good!

What I love about the flea flicker is there's always this "oh oh" moment for the defense. As soon as you realize what is happening, or the announcer says it, you hold your breath as the camera dashes to the deepest wideout. It's like gambling, you know you might have nuthin' or you might have a receiver clearly open and ready for the TD!

I LOVE the RB option pass, always have. Dan Reeves used to do it back in the day and was pretty good at it. Calvin Hill was another one who actually threw a good pass. Robert Newhouse & Ron Springs made some big plays for us with it including a TD pass to Danny White.

I cannot understand why teams don't run this play more often, especially if you have a guy that can throw well.

When we had guys like Woody Dantzler and Beau Morgan (both college QBs) I thought that was how we would use them but instead we kept trying to convert them into Safetys.

My next favorite gadget play is the fake punt. There are so many times when the other team turns and runs back to cover the punt and I always think, "why didn't someone tell the punter to just run it?" since there is no one left to tackle him.
