Sorry, but we’ve waited long enough….I don’t care how many regular season wins Corky racks up…he should be gone if we aren’t playing in the NFC Championship Game…period. We seem to talk tough prior to every regular season, only to lower the bar a few months later….please remember that Corky should have been fired 5 minutes after the SF embarrassment….but unfortunately survived.

I don't know. MM had 13 years in Green Bay and had a team with either Brett Farve or Aaron Rodgers, plus other Pro Bowl/All-Pro players, yet only won one Super Bowl. His regular season record overall was good in GB (125-77-2), his playoff record was 10-8 at GB, which is also good. But MM seems to be a coach that can get you to the job site but not always finish. There are many worse coaches out there though. I think he has done a good job overall. Can he get us a SB win? I don't know.

I do know that I don't want to relive the Dave Campo days. With the extra game now we could be 5-12 instead of 5-11 with someone like him.

If we win a wildcard game I want MM back…we need to build a program that is in contention for the conference and division every year. A team that you can count on for 10-12 wins year in year out. A team that gets multiple playoff cracks at the apple and eventually breaks through and wins the whole thing.

consistency is key, Ravens always were a playoff team and finally busted through, Steelers, 49ers consistent playoff team w multiple sb appearances, Seahawks during the LOB era. Payton’s saints. Etc, the packers. You need to be in the post season every year to have a chance.

I think we are building that here. While payton is the better coach- he’s not so much better where you give multiple draft picks and an insane check to. MM deserves another year baring a wildcard embarrassment and I’m not a huge MM supporter

You do remember that Campo had a cap strapped team and no QB in the 3 years he was the HC? His first year was Aikmans last year and his health concerns made him a shell of his former self.

I would say at a minimum, Dallas needs to beat any playoff team that has a worse record than they do. That gets them through the WC game at least.

From there, the conversation becomes about the quality of the product on the field. Was the team prepared? Were they competitive? Should they lose in the divisional round, I could see scenarios where he is fired or retained depending on several factors.

IMO— based on talent and performance ceiling, this team should be in the NFCCG. If MM gets them there, then no question he should be retained. Back to back 12-5 seasons is impressive— especially when considering losing the starting LT, QB, and 2nd and 3rd CB to injuries for significant periods of time.

The Campo comparison is apples to oranges insanity.

Campo inherited an old decimated cap strapped team while McCarthy not only has a uber talented team in its prime but the #1 offense and #1 defense in takeaways (and league leader in sacks).

MM was practically handed a championship caliber team, could not be more different than Campo's situation.

  • Already met with back to back 12 win seasons
  • winning 2 playoff games
  • NFCCG
  • Super Bowl

My floor for McCarthy would be one heavily reinforced with thick concrete, and rebar from Luxembourg (the country that shipped the steel used to build the stadium). The wear and tear on ramps, sidewalks and pathways around the training facility and stadium, have suffered from several years of treading by McCarthy. I read somewhere that Jerry wants McCarthy to suit up on the offensive line if we lose another starter.

On a more serious note, I think he is doing a great job considering he has to operate in a slowly reactive, myopic, distracted family business. The Jones family would be wise to keep him.

Sean Payton doesn't have even an ounce more success as a head coach with the same HOF QB situation.

I hear that all the time about McCarthy, then I hear we need Payton to coach the Cowboys who has an almost identical record as McCarthy.

Under current Management, I don't see any other coach coming in here and doing a better job.

I'm ok with Mike returning.

McCarthy and Paytons regular season and playoff records before he got fired from GB where nearly identical. McCarthy had Farve and Rodgers, Payton had Brees
