You have to target 10 wins to have a realistic chance at the playoffs. If we miss the playoffs again this season we could be looking at a lengthy playoff drought especially if Washington continues to improve. Hard making the playoffs when you have two teams ahead of you in your division.

The games I think Dallas "should" win:

Week 2 Giants at home
Week 3 at Chicago
Week 5 at Jets
Week 6 at Carolina
Week 7 Washington at home
Week 8 at Denver
Week 9 Arizona at home
Week 11 at Las Vegas
Week 18 at Giants

So 9 wins. The bookies say 7.5, and they are usually pretty accurate. Dallas will win a game or two they are underdogs (Philly?), but also lose an easy one too.
You can’t say Dallas should win and then list games they will be underdogs in …you mentioned Vegas, so you know at least a bit about odds…at least 3 or 4 of those games we will be underdogs in

We aren’t winning 10 games lol

With all the injuries last season, including to our starting QB for half the season, we still won 7 games. If Dak can stay healthy the entire season and Pickens provides what we think he can at WR2, and we improve defensively, 10 wins is a possibility. Our ability to run the ball will be a factor too. We’ll find out in the opener against Philly if the Cowboys have a chance to compete this season. If it’s a hard fought game and we come up just short, we have a chance to compete. If we get our doors blown off, it’s likely going to be a long season.

Being an optimistic soul, I went for ten wins this year. It might turn out to be such, if all of our walking wounded return to good health soon, assuming they'll recover well at all. It's difficult to predict, when there are so many reasons to question the new coaching and all the injuries involved. We shall see. Needless to say, if good fortune isn't to be had, it could easily be fewer wins. Anything can happen.

7 wins.

Our lack of a running back worth anything and lack of the ability to stop the run on the other side will be our undoing. Again.

Not to mention BS is just someone I can’t buy into.

I went 9-8, Dak will be back but the schedule is rough and I have no idea what your defense will be

Fair point. Poor choice of words on my part. Those are the games I think they will win.

Since 2000, the Cardinals are 10-6 against us, and the Broncos are 6-0.
Wow. Didn't realize the Broncos have been owning us so bad! I don't think of them as being that good.

I remember watching Dallas play the (St. Louis) Cardinals on Monday Night in the old Texas Stadium. 1977. Dallas lost. I was crushed!

I’m never concerned about the regular season

They can go 17-0, and still get swamp dragged first playoff game

They’ll probably go 10-7

You have to be concerned with the regular season because that’s the first step to making the playoffs. Our days of going 12-5 are long gone.

12-5. With a little luck in finding a decent RB from the current stable or elsewhere, this offense is poised to be high scoring. It’s may take a game or 2 to really get going but once they do it could be fun to watch. They could even be good enough to mask the growing pains for the defense with all the unknowns there.

I think our OLine will be very good (top 10) and then a decent run game will take the pressure off the QB and our receiving core is top 5 or 6 so I see points on the board and the D will be average or bit better so many games will be in the 30-24 or 35-27 30-28 with us winning 11 and losing 6. I'm probably homering a little but to be honest I won't surprised either way.
