without going into a complete rehash of this, if Carter was indeed the talent that some of you people think, 1) there wouldnt have been rumors of some assistants telling Parcells to go with rookie f/a Tony Romo as the starter at the beginning of the 03 season, 2) we would have never traded for Drew Henson and finally 3) Carter wouldnt have been released for a non suspension violation of the substance abuse policy

I know alot of you people just cant or wont grasp it, but its the truth

David

I guess what you can't grasp is that all things are not black and white.

The arguement is just not could Carter been the next Montana or the next Ryan Leaf.

There is a train of thought somewhere in the middle, could Carter of been a very serviceable QB coming off of last year that at the least could of lead this team until a frachise QB was ready better then VT has.

QC cerntaily had the potentially to get better, and would of added another dimension to the O in his running.

But we went to the age, tried to pass more and caused TOP issues for our undersized D. I thought Parcells admitted his mistake and had a great gameplan two weeks ago......

I'll tell you one thing I've noticed from watching this game.... watching the Jets defense... THAT'S what a pass rush is supposed to look like. Wow.

Can you say John Abraham? We need to scrap Wiley and pursue this guy in free agency.

Why bother? Zimmy would find a way to turn him into our version of Ebenezer Ekuban.

Great point!!

Thats how I looked at it, he wasnt BAD like most of the people here fell but he wasnt GREAT either. But he did play WELL for a Qb with what he had to work with.

Relax killer, your acting like micky or something. If Carter has a good game, well good for him, if he has a bad game, well tough for him. just wish him well and if you dont like him, then dont bother to pay attention to him like hostile does when people start threads on him. Very simple. Plus if you hate him so much why do you also start threads about him?

you know what I do hate?

I hate the fact that anyone who thinks Carter sux as a QB must be a "hater" or something...thats what I hate

I'm a UGA guy and honestly had hoped Carter would be the answer here, but he wasnt...he was a mistake prone QB who constantly made excuses for poor play by either blaming the coaches or blaming other players..rarely (if ever) did he ever step up and admit that the ball thrown into triple coverage that was picked at a key moment was his fault

Curtis Martin is also what a rb is suppose to look like.

But Zimmer is our biggest problem

amen to that...Abrham would spen the majority of plays "reading for the run" and playing passively, and his dominant pass rushing skills would be wasted here

of course if they were, more excuses forZim-puss would be made about lack of talent or whatever

I can agree with that in a way. I just will neve get the EXTREME hate carter had here. I understand calling him out when he did a bonehead play but I will never ever understand calling him out on a good play ("the ball was thrown to high, got lucky" and etc)

How interesting. And see, I look at this and I feel that the whole problem with this Quincy thing had too much to do with black and white.

I don't think that many on this forum ever questioned the fact that Quincy would have been the starter this year. He had every advantage and I think that if things had worked out a bit differently, he would have been the starter still. The question was, "Could he be a great or even good QB?"

You can't blame guys for being excited about Henson or whomever. Your talking about a guy who was drafted in the second round, with our first pick, who could not throw a football. I mean, how do you draft a guy to play QB who can not throw a football? I will grant you, this was not his fault. On the other hand, it was not the fault of the fan base either.

In the end, all you can say is that things worked out the way they did, time to move on.

I think even the Anti-QC people liked watching QC get up in Ray Ray's face after that last play.

14-0 Jets. QC looking solid so far. The Jets' OL is what an OL is supposed to look like. Kevin Mawae is a beast.

IMO the biggest problem has been no GM at the ranch.

Is Zimmer A problem? Maybe, I would like to see some talent of the D before making that judgement.

Our secondary has 1 player, we have maybe 1 LB and 2 decent D line players.
