What linemen could Dallas pull a trade for?

This team needs help in the interior. Badly. Are there any fairly decent linemen Dallas could try and trade for to provide depth/potentially start at one of the interior OL spots?

I know people are joking but i'm sure Dallas is looking around to see if they can make a move or if someone is in danger of getting cut.

If we sign Waters it probably won't be until we're out of Oxnard.

IMO, there are not a lot of OL that are available. Waters is the only name I'm seeing.

trades are hard and rare. it could happen but the odds are slim. i suspect they will take a long look at waters and see if he has anything left. if not there could be a vet cut in final cuts but lots of teams are needing olinemen so that could be hard too. there is a good chance that bernie is the other guard this year and livings as a backup in case he struggles

You'd have to trade someone like Murray, Hanna, or one of the young stud rookies to get a starting quality guard from someone.

Denver needs a center, New England needs tight ends, Miami needs a running back.....got trade an area of strength for a player you need that another team is strong in.

That's why trades rarely happen.

Trades rarely happen because bonus money accelerates into the current year's cap when a player is traded.

Listening to Stephen Jones talk yesterday, I'm going to guess that Waters wants more money than they're willing to spend right now, and that the team's going to stick it out and see what happens when rosters start to pare down. If we're going to trade anybody, it'd have to be a relatively valuable commodity at a position of depth (John Randle, maybe, for a promising young guard). I'm not sure what else we've got that's valuable that we could afford to move. Scandrick, maybe, if we really like our CB depth? Orton, if we like one of the young QBs and a team loses a starter? It's a stretch.

Realistically, I think we're looking at getting Bernadeau ready, scouring the waiver wire, and then capitulating and bringing in Waters in a pinch if we really think we have to have another veteran in the mix. It really stinks, because Moore was a perfect option for us just sitting there, familiar with the system and able to help.

They could trade backup Long Snapper Jackson Anderson for All-Pro Guard Jahri Evans.

No...... I don't think I would be for that trade. If the Saints wanted to throw in Vacarrow as well, then I could probably get behind that trade. Has to be more value in the deal if we are going to give up LPL.

Look for a team with one of the worst OL and target their 2nd string RG and offer him a big contract....... oh wait, never mind!

That, too. Plus, when you trade a good player, it just creates a another depth problem.

No, Waters is not willing to sign with a month of camp to go. He did it in 2011 an he will do it this year as well. If he plays this year, he will be signed during the last week of camp.

we are not deep enough in any area with proven talent that would enable us to trade for a quality guard.

I don't think they will be looking to trade for someone with a big salary anyway. Most likely it would be a young player they liked when he was in the draft. The reason teams wont trade now is because they still have to get through camp and don't know what injuries lie ahead. No one wants to trade their depth now and all of sudden be weak at that spot due to injuries. Does anyone here really want to trade Tanner, Dunbar, Beasley, Coale, Harris, or Hannah right now? These guys represent great depth at their positions and may be needed.

The better a player is, the more likely he is to have a No Trade clause in his contract.

Tampa has the best starting OL in the league imo, by far, not sure what depth they have.

Maybe, but it seems to me Waters would come cheaper then Brandon Moore's $2M, as I believe Waters last contract was around $3M for 2 years.
