What Makes Dak Irreplaceable?

So you want to blow the team up that's making the playoffs consistently just to draft another quarterback that has not proven he can win at this level at all just for the sake of change? Guess we want to become the new Washington Commanders.

I swear you would think Dak threw three pick sixes yesterday. The defense blew a late lead and the Cowboys lost. And even putting Dak and Justin Fields in the same sentence is laughable. Dak had two bad games this year, San Fran and Buffalo. Not saying he was perfect vs. Miami but he led the Cowboys back from 19-10 down in the 4th to a 20-19 lead. He did his job. Maybe hold the rest of the team to the same standard???
It's been 8 years. We get it. You adore Dak. Others of us don't care about having a winning record every year, but still coming up short in the playoffs.

These guys should be playing for Super Bowl wins. Everything else is losing.

Dak is an overpaid mediocre QB. He's top ten only because the league has a severe shortage of QB talent. He was a 4th rd pick for action reason. He outright chokes more often than not.

A huge contingent of fans here agree with that even if you don't.

I'd take a chance on someone else because I've seen enough of Dak, I'd dump him, and start with getting the best defense money can buy. Then build the o-line, then a running game, then find a QB.

If Dak ain’t the guy, then Micah “almost got there, but only on a pass rush” parsons should be traded immediately. And now that the hall of famers around mahomes are fading or leaving, he’s not the guy either.

Im sure Zach Wilson, Mac Jones and Desmond Ritter would foot the bill
To make it simpler. The average 1st round QB from the past 10 years is Mitch Trubisky. That is what you are likely to draft and actually with the amount of busts of the past 3 years he might actually be above average now as I did not update that chart to account for the busts of 3 years ago (which it turns out was everyone but Lawrence who is merely passable).

Dak has played well this year… but… he has what a year remaining on his contract. If he doesn’t have a deep playoff run this year I think it’s tough to imagine giving him another big contract. Just how it is in my mind.

Like we’ve reached how high we can reach with him…. Especially if it’s another divisonal round loss.
Doesn’t matter what Dak does in the playoffs he is getting a 4-5 extension it was never a question of if he’s getting one just when. Look at how the contract played out, 60 million in the final year says it all and Dak is in the drivers seat because he knows Jerry is resigning him. Why would Jerry set up the contract that way unless he’d made up his mind he’s keeping Dak long term. Dak is a Jerry pick and Jerry wants credit so he can gloat that he’s a football guy, no matter what it costs. Dak and MM are getting extensions no matter what happens.

Lmao what kind of argument is this? Purdy and Dak have similar stats this year. Why would they trade for similar production with a huge cap hit? Dak nor Purdy are elite, but you can win it all with the right team around them. There are two guys in this league that are elite (Mahomes and Rodgers). You only give up the farm for one of those guys.
Dak is too inconsistent to win anything. The right team around him would be #1 defense, #1 running game, #1 offensive line. #1 in turnovers. And than how are you going to pay all those guys when Dak is demanding #1 money. It's time to move on from him.

I'm gonna order a custom jersey next year if Dak gets signed. It will be a #4 that says Trash Prescott!

I love me some Mitch Trubisky!

The Cowboy Zone would 100% get behind him as a replacement for Dak!

Trey Lance.

Come on bro. Other than some serious huffing of the hopium, how can you even defend this take.
They gave Dak one last chance. We got a #5 seed and road playoff games. There's still a chance at a Super Bowl. I guess.

No way they pay him next season.

When they cut Dak in March 2024...

2024 Dead Cap: $25,455,0002025
Dead Cap: $36,460,0002024
Cap Savings: $34,000,000

It's all about the $$$.
