Both Romo and Dak have/had holes in their game that must be dealt w/. Problem is, Jerry is so bad at player evaluations he never took the steps required to get them there. Look at how good both looked w/ a consistent running game? D Murray w/ Romo and EZ w/ Dak. It doesn't take the exaggeration of what you're saying on O, but it does take a method to move the chains w/o throwing 30 yard passes. We don't do that.Dak needs great pieces around him, a great offensive line, a great running game, a great Tightend, Great receivers, a great defense and the biggest Key for Dak winning a Superbowl is to actually SHOWUP in big games when he tends to play tentative, unsure and hesitant....
I didn't think Romo would lead Dallas to a Superbowl after four years watching him and I just don't see Dak leading this team to a Superbowl either, Don't get me wrong, he's a good quarterback, he plays great against medicore and subpar teams but against the very good teams, he's just not the same player...
that's a very good point, has to elevate us over that, instead of adding to it and getting our hopes up in garbage timePlay big in big games.
If we get hit in the mouth he can’t become part of the problem with turnovers or going into a shell until the game is over.
Sure, but that's off topic. The question is what he needs, not how we can reiterate his bashing.that's a very good point, has to elevate us over that, instead of adding to it and getting our hopes up in garbage time
The answer is obvious. I'm not a big Dak fan, but QBs as good or worse have been to super bowls. We can't even get to a championship game with Dak or Romo. Blame the front office.Looking back over the years he's had a decent O-line at times, had skilled players such as Zeke, Dez, Cooper, Witten, Cooks, Ferguson, Pollard, Gallup etc. With that said, and most of those guys gone/retired, what weapons do we need to put around Dak to help him get to the Superbowl. I realize that the defense has to be on point as well, but I'm focusing this post more from an offensive standpoint. Please give your thoughts.
Rewatch the first half of the GB game. What more does Dak need to get us to a Superbowl?
Exactly. Dak was on a rookie contract and we were still bargain bin shopping. Any other coach would have been let go from an embarrassing performance like the playoffs we had. Nope, nothing happens. Could have gotten Harbaugh or Bellichick. Nope, got to roll with ma boy at coach. The answer is obvious. I'm not a big Dak fan, but QBs as good or worse have been to super bowls. Think of this. Dallas was paying Dak almost nothing during his rookie years and they team building operating procedure did not change one bit. Dak could say he'll play for food over the next 5 years, and we still wouldn't get to a championship game.
That's exactly what we saw. After 2016 there was no urgency. That's putting it mildly too. They did nothing. Draft, fill holes with bums, run it back. That 2016 off season looked like it was run by amateurs. What are you doing? That wasn't the Jerry of years ago. Years ago he gets a T.O., a Haley, a Sanders. He also made some bad choices too. But what we're seeing now is just sad.Exactly. Dak was on a rookie contract and we were still bargain bin shopping. Any other coach would have been let go from an embarrassing performance like the playoffs we had. Nope, nothing happens. Could have gotten Harbaugh or Bellichick. Just look at the Eagles. They somehow manage to have all of these expensive contracts and they just went and added Saquon. Meanwhile, the only thing we do at RB is add back the RB we let go in the first place for underperforming. The FO is NOT building teams to win a superbowl. They build teams good enough to give you hope so Jerry and the boys can make a ton of money.
you are welcome. keeping the clicks coming...the site needs the ad moneyThank you for participating!
when do I do it all the time? I respond to your posts, a lot of which are not Dak related. You are calling me out, you do it all the time, i'm used to it, but will not fall into the negativity, have a great day! Football is back!!!!!!!!!
Uhhhhhh no, no I dontOMG...another Dak thread....are you that bored?
once you realize there is no championship opportunity, then it will all make sense. there hasn't been an opportunity for 29 years....Dak here for 8 of those....and Dak will be gone soon enough. then what? do you trust this GM and FO to build a championship team?
This is the right answer. I don't think he could get it done if given the best teams in history. Somewhere along the path they would face adversity & he would need to overcome it. History strongly suggests he would fold. The team needs to follow his advise & "move on" from him.All pro’s at every position and the 85 bears D. There’s still a chance he will only produce 12 points in a playoff game. He’s had the resources a few seasons he just continues to choke come playoffs, it’s who he is
Those expensive contracts are causing them to implode. Didn't anyone pay attention to how badly they tanked to let us win the division?Exactly. Then he doesn't have the skills. Between the ears is the biggest skillset for an NFL QB.Just speaking about Dak, and he alone, I think he is what he is. I think he has the skills. Honestly, I think most of his issues are between his ears. Perhaps he needs a psychologist (sports or otherwise). It's obvious that what's been done previously is just not working to get him over the hump. But, what the heck do I know.
I guess I should have said "physical" skills. But, yeah, I hear you. Then he doesn't have the skills. Between the ears is the biggest skillset for an NFL QB.
