the teams in the NFCE are predicted to be:
Eagles, Dallas, Giants then Skins.
I expect that is a most reasonable scenario but do feel Dallas actually has the most talent on paper.
On paper its: Dallas, Eagles, Giants, Skins.
Dallas and the Eagles are wayyyyyy better than the Giants and Skins.
Skins are very young at QB and questionable at WR. They have a very poor DL where Marcus Washington is their best pass rusher.
Giants have been a solid team that relied so heavily on Tiki Barber. But the QB play has been poor and lot of the talent is inconsistent and/or moody.
Eagles had huge problems stopping the run last year and Darren Howard is all but a free agent bust already. The LBs have names but are very old. The secondary and offense are very solid. The OL specifically is very good. McNabb is good when healthy but pretty poor when banged up.
Dallas is solid on both sides of the ball but can get hurt quickly with injuries as some of the depth is questionable; especially along both lines. What I like about Dallas is they addressed the 3 biggest questions this team had this off-season: Adding pass rusher Anthony Spencer in round 1, signing Leonard Davis at OG, and coming to terms with Ken Hamlin at free safety. The only playoff team who did anything near that good this off-season is the NE Pats and they are the early favorites.
If I had to say someone was overrated I'd go with the Eagles who have been ranked top 5 in most rankings.
If I had to say someone was underrated it would be Dallas based on the rankings where they are in the mid teens. For a playoff team that did not lose anyone thy wanted to keep and added 3 significant contributors it makes little sense for them to be ranked to low.
I will say both the Skins and Giants could put things together and play well. A couple of surprise seasons and they will be at a reasonable talent level. BUT it hard to suggest that will happen based on the history of the players involved and the minor positive changes they have since last season.
