Go ahead... make fun of me... but I wouldn't take anyone over Romo. He's got intangibles that nobody else has, plus the physical and mental tools that make a great QB.

There I said it.

Be serious.

Normally I would say Palmer, Peyton, Brady...

... but the way Romo looks today, I would almost wonder why I'd bother.

He has to be considered a top 5 QB in the league.

Assuming we were taking a QB to QB the Cowboys -now-, I wouldn't take any of them, even if they prove to be better in the end.

None of them know this team the way the Romonator does.

David.

Brady, Brees, and Rivers would be my top choices to take over Romo...BUT, and without sound like a homer, I'd take Romo over those guys.

It's been a LONG time since I've felt the Cowboys can beat anybody on any given Sunday. Whenever Bledsoe dropped back, I get scared at what he would do. When he drove the team down the field, I would get scared that he would make a crucial mistake. So for the last two years, I just hoped something bad wouldn't happen when Bledsoe dropped back. But, with Romo back there, I don't get that feeling and it feels so good.

So here's to the Talented Mr. Romo...Keep up the good work.:gent:

I really didn't spend any time participating in those Henson/Romo battles cause really, noone here was in practice scouting them daily. People chose sides based on what they read, cause they never really saw them play.

I really didn't care which one would be our QB, I was just hoping one of them would be our starting QB. Throwing the dart at the right name of that QB doesn't matter to me.

Is it okay to say Romo reminds me of Montana now? There, I said it. He does and has for some time, its just that everyone freaks out when you drop a name like that. His style, his poise, his leadership, his release, his ability to throw with pinpoint accuracy on the run off his backfoot, the way he makes the people around him better players. He may not win 5 Superbowls. He may not even come close to winning one. But just on style alone he's the closest thing I've seen to Joe Montana since Joe Montana.

I hate comparisons like that; but I can't help but to make them myself at this point.

I see a little Montana with some Brett Favre in him, maybe some Steve Young.

He's legit. And when you're worth your salt, you warrant those kinds of comparisons.

It's not like you can't back it up with his completion percentages or TD to INT ratios.

Of course he's only played in a few games, but let's not lie to ourselves. He's for real.

I have to admit that I'd take Romo over any QB in the league right now honestly....and its not because I think he's better than some like Peyton, Brady, or Palmer....( at least not just yet)....but its because he is absolutely the most fun to watch of any player in the game right now.
He plays at such a high level, makes it look sooo easy, makes it look like a lot of fun, has really no fear, makes great play one after another, always has a smile on his face, and is so humble every time he talks to the media. I really just enjoy watching him play so much that if we traded him (God forbid) I'd watch that team (Dallas would still be my team though) too. He has made my year much more enjoyable.
I wonder how long before Romo replaces Favre as Madden's official man-crush. "Man, he just loves to play the game." "He's having so much fun out there."

I wouldn't take anyone else over Romo. There's just something about being groomed all along and then coming out with a bang. It's the best feeling in the world to see the boys in the red zone and knowing that we WILL most likely score a TD. Turning it over in the red zone is no longer on my list of worries.

Peyton - NOT! 1. Age 2. Happy feet in the playoffs.
Brady - NOT! I still say he's a product of the system much like a bunch of RBs that run through Denver. Brady's strength is he calm, cool and collectiveness and so far I see the same in Romo with better scrambling ability.

I am still enamored with Vince Young sans the Wondelic score. But it would be idiotic for both teams to make that trade. Cowboys have been slowly built over 4 years by Parcells and were a QB (and maybe an OL or two) away from being a great team. Romo is far and above any rookie hanging out in a Parcells camp for 4 years. Tennessee needs to build a team around VY and the verdict will be in 3 or 4 years.

I can't help but to compare Romo to Favre. I've always said Favre was overrated because of his sandlot style which lead to too many turnovers. But Bill seems to have Romo toned down so far and those side arm passes that wind up going to a way different spot than they appear during his release like I saw 2 or 3 times tonight is just deadly.

Yeah, it was kinda weird, I mean when we got in the goaline, I would say everytime, bootleg Romo and its a TD. And of course, I was right, lol.

Unbelieveable, but that is one of the advantages to a mobile QB.

I'd be very interested in knowing if there's ever been a QB who completed at least two thirds of his passes in every one of his first five career starts.

Favre will always be the comparison, after all Favre is the one that Romo mimicks out there just like Kobe does MJ. Its was there hero, and they put them in their games. All of the rest of the comparisions just don't fit.
