Tyron goes to Swing OT, so he and Peters can back these dudes up.

who cares about "trusting" him. he's a luxury at this point. if he can play, that's just a bonus and a welcome one at that.

I’m not really concerned or thinking about Smiths return. He likely won’t be back until the playoffs or a week or two before that.

Tyler Smith had played well, but I still slide him into LG. Steele has played well.

Tyron / Tyler / Biadasz / Martin / Steele

Yep, and we have Peters too. Who has actually been playing better than most fans realize, at 41-years-old no less. That's very impressive for a guy that size.

I also like his attitude, and the impact he has being a member of the team.

He can be a swing tackle/guard, so you can pretty much plug him in anywhere except center.

Connor McGovern has also been decent enough. So we're good on the line.

I worry about depth at LBer and WR.

Then why were so many people wanting the Cowboys to make a trade to upgrade the OL?

Old cliché but they really did like their guys.

They like their guys. I'm cool with that. The phrase has more meaning and legitimacy with this new coaching regime.

I'm not either. As @fivetwos (cohesion) @Doomsday101 (continuity) pointed out, I'm not sure if I would change anything. But the dude is a stud when healthy, and if he's healthy and in shape, which he always is, I would look at it. On paper, having Tyron at LT and Tyler at LG is SCARY.

With his injury I don't think you can do a lot, cardio wise. So he might not even be able to play 4 quarters. Glad I'm not a coach.

Plenty he can do for cardio, man. All kinds of stuff. I'd leave that stuff up to the trainers.

IF and when. I'm not sure i make any changes, I keep TS77 as the swing tackle and IF in big game or the payoffs one of our tackles are struggling, then you make the switch.
yes I agree, but jerry will put tyron back in as soon as possible.

As long as he comes and doesn't get a holding call. Tyler has been having a quiet but good season. His play has made me miss Tyron less.

The current offensive line should be kept intact. They are staring to roll and any lineup change could affect their efficiency.

Tyron Smith should end up being the NFL's best swing tackle this season.

That’s the dumbest idea this century. Tyron’s still a top 3 tackle when healthy. He needs to start abd live Tyler to guard to have the best line in the league.
That's your opinion. When healthy...well when is he healthy? Not now. Not in the last few years. How did Tyron play against the 49ers, the last time we saw him?

You dumb to say he's Top 3 when there's no proof...talking out your azz.

Tyron will probably be injured again before he even plays a single game.

considering how much they are hyping his return, he going to be starting at LT once he is healthy enough to do so.

i’d leave the Oline as is. Tyron Smith and Jason Peters as backups (that sounds insane lol)

Nah doubt it..,he will leave that up to the coaches and trainers to make sure hes in full game shape and fully ready. jerry does not dictate who plays and who much even if that what the fan narrative may be.

FRISCO, Texas - By almost anyone's estimation, the Cowboys offensive line has under-promised and over-delivered through the first eight games of the season.

With so much uncertainty across the board before the season even began with the exception of All-Pros Zack Martin and Tyron Smith, the offensive line had its fair share of doubters before they ever left for training camp.

Then on the last day of training camp after returning from Oxnard, Calif., Smith went down with a non-contact injury. By the next morning it was said that he would miss the majority of the season with a hamstring injury.

But earlier this week, Cowboy chief operating officer Stephen Jones said on 105.3 "The Fan" that he expected Smith to return to action in about 3-4 weeks, meaning after Thanksgiving is a possibility.

I'll believe it when I see it with regards to Tyron playing again. He won't be 100% this season. That type of injury lingers. He'll need to practice for at least 2 weeks before starting a game.

If it's 3 or 4 weeks to return to practice then 2 or 3 weeks of practice before starting a game, then the season is almost over.

I would prefer to get him as healthy as possible as a backup option. It would effectively give them a backup option at 2 positions. Directly at LT or indirectly by moving Tyler to LG with Tyron at LT.

If McGovern was out they could decide between Peters at LG or Tyler at LG with Tyron at LT.

If Tyron Smith is 100% I put the future Hall of Famer in their at LT. There’s no one better than him when he’s healthy. As far as what to do with Tyler Smith, I’ll leave that up to the coaches. Is McGovern more comfortable with the line calls and playing with Tyron Smith? Or is Tyler Smith that much better physically than McGovern? I don’t know, but the coaches do.

I see him as a swing tackle. I would not look to replace Tyer Smith unless he sustains an injury. I agree with what you said about getting into condition but I would not replace Smith at the end of the season after having played the entire season up to that point. I see Tyron as an insurance policy at this stage.

3-4 weeks until his 3 week practice window. If he takes the full window that would be 6-7 weeks before he plays in a game.

3-4 weeks from a 3 week practice only window. 6-7 weeks, *if* he looks healthy enough after that time to play.

Glad that the real story finally gets out there.

If you want to win, and Tyron is truly healthy, you play him. Period.
Tyron as swing tackle is just a goofy idea. I know I should stop finding it shocking that so many people will believe the goofiest things, but here I am, still shocked.
