The current offensive line should be kept intact. They are staring to roll and any lineup change could affect their efficiency.

Tyron Smith should end up being the NFL's best swing tackle this season.

No. Just no.

Jerry made clear that we are going with the best five and there was no way Tyron wouldn't be considered one of the best five.

I’d really like to see Tyron and Tyler next to each other on the left side. I think they could be dominant in the run game.

Not as if Martin and Steele aren’t great run blockers themselves.

Coincidentally, what do we need to do to win? Oh right…run the ball. Maybe some defense.

This team has a chance. It’s better than last years IMO, or at least has a better shot at going deep into the playoffs.

I’d like to see that as well. I think a Smith-Smith combo with Tyron at tackle and Tyler shifting inside would give the Cowboys a pick-your-poison strength in the running game. They would be equally strong running to either side at that point.

They’re not bad right now, but I think they could be even stronger if Tyron is back to form.

FRISCO, Texas - By almost anyone's estimation, the Cowboys offensive line has under-promised and over-delivered through the first eight games of the season.

With so much uncertainty across the board before the season even began with the exception of All-Pros Zack Martin and Tyron Smith, the offensive line had its fair share of doubters before they ever left for training camp.

Then on the last day of training camp after returning from Oxnard, Calif., Smith went down with a non-contact injury. By the next morning it was said that he would miss the majority of the season with a hamstring injury.

But earlier this week, Cowboy chief operating officer Stephen Jones said on 105.3 "The Fan" that he expected Smith to return to action in about 3-4 weeks, meaning after Thanksgiving is a possibility.

Think it's wishful thinking Tyron returns, even if he somehow does, expect to see another injury. I believe he won't be a Cowboy next season and probably retires.

I expect he will retire or will be released. I love Tyron but I don't think he is the same player any longer. There comes a time when a team must move on and I think with the play of Smith the time is at hand for Tyron. I think he can play, if Dallas sustains an injury and would be able to fill in but I do doubt the dominance he has displayed throughout much of his career. 1st things 1st he has to get back, get back in to condition before he would even have the chance to prove anything but even at that I think it is wishful thinking to believe he is the same player who was dominant

And Jason Peters? He's not in the top 5?

At this point Tyron just seems to be too fragile to be dependable.

It's time to move on from Zeke and Tyrons contracts. With that being said I'd like them both back next year with new reduced contracts.

Tyron will be the best swing tackle of all time starting in Dec

The OL developed rather than declining when TS was injured.
When TS returns it will be like putting more gravy on them biscuits.
If you don't appreciate good biscuits and gravy than I just can't explain it to you.

Tyron is going to give it one last go for a ship, you just watch. I know he is made of glass but all this rest surely will help him when his re attached hamstring is fully healed, the rest will be rested.

IOW: "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability..."

Remember that one time when that guy Larry Allen moved inside to guard? Seemed to work out pretty well for him. Just a thought...

Tyler Smith is on track to give up 14 penalties and 8 sacks. Tyron Smith doesn’t give that up in three years of football. As good as Tyler has been as a rookie, Tyron is a significant upgrade and playoffs aren’t about developing players.

Dumb
If you want to win, and Tyron is truly healthy, you play him. Period.
Tyron as swing tackle is just a goofy idea. I know I should stop finding it shocking that so many people will believe the goofiest things, but here I am, still shocked.
exactly. The way sone of these guys think is crazy. Yiu have a potential all pro guard abd yiu want to play him at tackle over a hall of fame tackle slightly ossuary it’s prime:

At guard. He’ll have a smaller discs vs be will be better in pass protection.

I’m not really concerned or thinking about Smiths return. He likely won’t be back until the playoffs or a week or two before that.

Tyler Smith had played well, but I still slide him into LG. Steele has played well.

Tyron / Tyler / Biadasz / Martin / Steele

I wonder if Zack can play center.

Tyron at 100% may give Cowboys the unique ability to play their best 5.

Best 5: Tyron-Tyler-Zack-Peters-Steele

Highly unlikely, but so intriguing.

Cowboys pass protection improves considerably with both Tyron and Peters in the lineup.

Right now Cowboys pass pro is middle of the road.

Cowboys run block like demons.

Especially on RIGHT side. Zack and Steele have been stellar.

Flip Peters to LT and Tyler to LG and the run blocking on left side will be just as elite.

Pass pro would improve too.

Tyron is a pro-bowl LT and if he is able to play effectively he should resume his LT duties with Tyler moving inside to LG, which would strengthen our weakest position on the OL.
If Tyron is unable to play effectively then he needs to sit.
