What offensive plays/concepts can we carry over to help Dak

I'm sure there are plenty of plays that will stay the same conceptually, but HOPEFULLY those plays will be run after more motion and with more play action. And HOPEFULLY, that play action is more effective because there is a sound run game.... lots of hoping...

Are there any plays/concepts/routes that you can think of that we used this past season or in previous season under MM that Dak will be allowed to keep to help him run the offense. Is there any routes you feel that he excels well at, the coaches will feel the same about. Or, will Shotty change it up a lot to get this offense to be more balanced and efficient. Yes we've had good offenses over the years in terms of stats, but were they good when we needed them to be (in the red zone, playoffs, or in critical points of a game?) Please give your thoughts
They don’t exist.

Run the ball.

Other than that it is not just about what plays are called but being able to run multiple plays within the same formation and personnel grouping. When you have run and pass options from both shotgun and under center with all the different personnel groups, 11, 12, etc then it is easier to keep defenses off balance. If romo or tv commentator in the booth can call out your play so can the dang defense.

One of the more successful plays, was Dak rolling out to the right. A TE comes across the field, and catches the ball from 5 to 15 yards up field from the LOS right around the hash marks.
Then they got away from it. Rarely used it with Rush.
Teams caught on, then it became at best a minimal gain, at worst some catastrophe or another.

This team and Dak is beyond help.

Did I do that right also?

:muttley:
Garrett, Moore, and McCarthy have been pretty offensive minds so I'm not sure who will implement a more successful scheme.

It could be roster or the thing you joked about...

No audibles to a pass and instead just hand off to an all pro, game breaking, running back should be Dak's staple play next year.

I'm all for the concept of being active in free agency and filling the holes on the team with talent so DAk might be more successful

Why because @jazzcat22 I know exactly what play you're talking about, that play usually has a WR rugby near the tight end, we run this play and the TE is usually covered because the boot takes so long, therefore there's nobody to throw it to, can't hit the WR because there's too many defenders over there and my the time he'd catch it he'd be out of bounds anyways

The best position for Dak Prescott to be in and have success is for us to fall behind at least 3 scores and be late in the third quarter. Under those circumstances , Dak Prescott is better than Mahomes. He basically got paid twice because of it and I wish I was joking

Dak needs to be more of a mobile threat like he was in the beginning of his career. Defenses are now counting on him not being so mobile. That's what other offenses do that the Cowboys don't do. Having a more effective run game by our RBs would help as well.
