What players and their salaries do you anticipate coming off the books next year?

I can’t wait for this particular season to get underway. I love a defensive squad. Let’s hope they can last out into the playoffs.
So am I. It feels weird going into a season looking forward to watching the defense.

These are players I no longer see being on the books after this season:

- Polllard 10 million
-Tyron Smith 13 million
-Gillmore CB 13 Million
-Gallup 12 Million

-Lawrence is probably the biggest shoe to drop at some point. Isnt he getting like 17 million per year now with the discount he signed?

- I bet they find a way to keep Cooks around and I they will need to look into resigning Steele and Biadasz.

Am I missing anyone?

Diggs big salary is probably the first one to reup. I expect them to get Parsons and Lamb resigned at some point, but they probably slow roll those. Dak as well.
I believe DLaw & Gallup contracts prohibit the team from their release until another two seasons. Position to watch is at Safety, do they resign Kearse/Hooker?

I'm expecting Lamb to sign the 1st big extension and Diggs playing on the tag in 2024. Both Steele/Biaz should also receive extensions.

I am not up on the progress or lack thereof of those you mentioned, but, boy howdy, Tyron for sure as the top candidate.

I'm too focused on 2023 to worry about the 2024 cap.

However, the Cowboys will likely carry about 20 million over unless they extend a player or two before. So they should have about 28 million to work with. Of course they'll do something about Dak's 59 million cap hit and free up a lot more room. Likely already spoken for with Diggs, Ceedee, Parsons, and perhaps Steele, and Biadsz..

Tyron really doesn't save anything, 2024 is technically a dummy year for salary cap dump. Let's see how the year plays out, but would assume Gallup is on the hotest seat. For Lawrence all depends on performance and development of some of the younger guys. Technically they could just restructure his contract.

You didn't miss anyone of note. I'm just not sure about Gallup. Unless he is absolutely terrible this year, he'll be here next year too. His dead cap is the same as his cap hit. I doubt they use a June 1st cut on him.

Tyron is only 8M against the cap this year with another 6M in void years. He'll be 2M off the books next year.

DLaw has 2 years left. Same situation as Gallup. I'm guessing that show drops after 2024.
I am pretty sure that the Cowboys made a nice out from Gallup after two years. And knowing how good Cooks is, they are going to love him. I would rather have Cooks that Gallup. Dont think you can afford to pay all 3. My guess would Gallup gone unless he has some monster season.

You might be right about Diggs on the Tag. Lamb was a first rounder though and has that 5th year option.

I thought I gave a good response. Saying there’s no way to accurately tell about the performance of certain players. Until they play. It was an honest question. Not meant to be sarcasm
It was a lame response. As if you didnt want to bothered even thinking about it. As if it was too much for you to think about at this point. Glad I wasnt the only one that saw that.

Tyron Smith. He could have a fabulous year after taking the time off you did helping his back. Then again he could absolutely just folder the second game I wish them the best I guess that’s all I can really say.
Problem is that he has more issues that just his back. Foot, arm, shoulder, ect....ect.....

I understand the scenario. But that’s all it is speculation. I don’t think the salary cap. Is it anything that should be taken into consideration it can always be manipulated. Look at all the money we have now. It’ll be gone just as fast as it was there and vice versa.
So the salary cap isnt real? Is that the extent of your "analytical genius"?

Again, no reason to drop Gallup as they're not saving any money doing so. Zero money to cut Gallup. He's a 13M cap hit, 13M dead cap. Even a June 1st cut is minimal.

So you are saying they have no out after THIS season where they can get out with a minimal cap hit?

At least you’re consistently rude.
Buddy, you are the one running around calling yourself an analytics genius yet your are incapable of analyzing what players might be casualties going into next season. LOL

And then you are going around telling everyone how ridiculous they are for answering the question. No one is being rude around here but you. Im just getting a big kick out of it.

Lots of factors go into who stays and who goes. How they play this year, their contract, age, physical condition

Nope
The only way he goes is if he struggles this year and someone steps up and pushes him out. Financially there is no savings, just the roster spot

Of guys currently signed for next year:

DLaw - $3m savings, $10m savings June 1
Tyron Smith - $0 savings, $1m savings June 1
Michael Gallup - $800k savings, $9.5m June 1

They'll have a bunch of space once they extend/restructure Dak and have an $8.5m restructure built in with Zack Martin, so they don't really have to make any of these moves.

Savings? Im talking about getting out of the contract with little penalty. I believe they have that kind of out after THIS season with Gallup.
