McGee instead of Kitna at QB to see if he is our future back up?

Sean Lee for James and Brooking a lot has to be given way more reps?

Young in at times for Columbo at ROT?

Bennett needs to take a bunch of reps from Witten. Witten could use the healing time. Plus, he takes off chunks of time too. Bad turnover and penalty again in a span of 2 minutes. Bennett might be a space cadet but lets see what he does with more playing time. Can he develop to next level and handle the complete game?

We need to figure out if any of the Williams' can actually play LBer at NFL level?

I already saw Raitliff come out a lot tonight. Does Brent get a ton of reps? Probably should. Rat gets worn down, he has been pretty quiet for a number of games.

Bowen in for Spears? If they aren't going to resign Spears, then Bowen needs to be starter. Plus Bowen is FA too no?

Might as well put Akwasi in at safety somewhere no?

Should Church get a shot?

Hell I think Tash Choice should get a shot at starter until Jones gets fit and his speed back. Why pound Barber in there over and over at this point (now I wish we would have traded one RB). Maybe we can figure out which one to try and trade in offseason.

We sure as hell better figure out some pieces of this rosters future. In a sick way this is a way to evaluate your team, and start finding out which ones can develop and have "winner" in them, and which ones just aren't gonna cut it.

Who do you want to see?

You nailed all the obvious ones.

AOA, Costa, J.Williams, Lee, Jones and Choice, Church at SS should all get more plaing time but bold should get that start

This is the best reason to do a coaching switch mid year. Let the next guy get a proper read for which players can be coached up, and what holes need filled in the off season.

I don't wanna see McGee.

I don't think seeing if a guy is the future backup is worth it to the players.

You at least owe them a little bit of respect. Let them have some dignity by not visually throwing up the white flag to the rest of the league.

Plus, I don't think McGee is all that good. If it weren't for his final preseason performance, does he make the team?

McGee is not the future in Dallas. I wouldn't even waste time by letting him sit behind that line with as little experience as he has. Is it even fair to do that to the kid anyway?

No coach will come into a situation like Dallas has.

Getting a head start for next year does reduce the chances of a lot of misses right from the begining the next season again, as well as gives you a MUCH better idea where to go with the draft.

I couldn't care less if we lose 9 of next 10. Means better draft picks. AS LONG as they figure out who has heart and brains and skill potential on this team, as changes need to be made and will be coming. But they should be informed decisions.

This is an opportunity to find out a lot more about the bottom 2/3 of roster than anyone expected to find out this season.

A new coach also gives some guys like Spencer, Scandrick, etc - guys that showed promise at one point, the chance to make a comeback. Maybe new teachers and new motivation will help them refind their game.

Worth a shot. Way better than wearing out Rat and Witten and guys like that for every snap again.

Oh yeah. Throw Oggletree out there again, and get him some WR reps. If they cut Roy (although he doesn't deserve it so far this year - would he renegotiate contract - I'd approach him about that) or if they think they will cut his $5 Million salary since they have Austin/Dex, then they need to find out if Oggletree can be a number 3 (they that rhymes!).

The way the offense is blowing blitz coverages, we may get to see McGee anyway. Kitna is a pure pocket passer, and he's 38 years old. I mean as decimated as the Packers defense was, they were ALL over Brett Favre. They're gonna be licking their chops when Kitna hits town.

Oh I think 100 coaches would jump at the chance to come to Dallas, even with Jerry pulling their puppet strings. The right motivator could turn this team around pretty fast.

Jerry has done it before and he keeps getting a bit older and removed from the SuperBowl years. Would need to be a strong personality to handle being in the middle of a tug of war, BUT, there are some building blocks in place on this team.

Smarten em up, toughen em up, and motivate them. Isn't that what a coach is suppossed to do. Prepare the young guys, and bring in a few savy veterans if you can find them. Cut out a few bad weeds.

Mentally they are probably broken this season, without Romo the great equalizer in there, but this team has been one that can beat anyone over the last 4 years (as well as one that can lose to anyone). Inconsistency. The roster isn't that different. It is inconsistent and mentally weak though - the right coach could change that and squeeze more out of the physical talent I think.

Sean Lee for sure needs to play a ton. He needs to start.

Running the football behind this offensive line is a tough task...

This line is done...

Stick a fork in it...

There is no where to go...

They can't get a push or get to the second level...

Garrett doesn't have the 1990s offensive line, and his schemes are pretty basic. I think the offensive line coach has been a disappointment. This line plays too high (see Leonard Davis) according to Mike Lombardi. They can't hold blocks or get a push or get to the second level (except for Free and Kosier).

This line can't block a basic counter play, anymore.

That is Felix Jones' bread and butter play in this offense...

According to Dallas Cowboys Times, I think Felix Jones had 220 yards on 22 counters last year. That is 10.0 YPC.

Look what the Bears did to Leonard Davis on those counters this year. Garrett called a counter left tonight, and it was blown up.... Poor blocking...

Time to put in play Costa - Young - and bring up Bright

my gawd sureley the can't be worse then Gurode - Davis - Columbo

I was just thinking the same thing about Mcgee. He's the backup now, not the scout team dude. If they both were to go down, I think it would next be Tashard Choice in the single wing...

With the Packers rush vs Favre, it seemed a bit more ...personal... No telling if they'll have the same oomph against someone else. Kitna has played them a lot previously, though I don't know if he went up against Caper's schemes.

They should start wearing the blue jerseys at home from now on. Why not? Who cares about tradition and legacy at this point, the players certainly don't.

Lee and Williams splitting time in the middle.

Ball back to nickle CB with AOA at FS and Church (really like this kid) getting reps at SS.

Holland (when healthy) and Young get serious reps on OLINE.

Give Bennett some of Witten's load not just to see what he has but to preserve Witten's legs.

I would also seriously consider giving Merriman a one year contract (with two more team option years) and a chance at splitting time with Ware AND Spencer.

Other than that, I say take shots at different practice squad players each week.

Keith Brooking needs to have his playing time reduced. He just isnt physical at the point of attack and never makes a play in the back field.

Id also like to see how Ratliff would do at DE. I love the guy but we need to get bigger and in the middle on running downs.

Id also like to see Butler get some more playing time for Spencer.

It is ridicilous that with all the draft picks etc that this team has used and some of the talent that Wade hasnt been able to come up with a bit more of a rotation with some of the front 7 players. I dont think it is a coincidence that we usually start off tough then fade as the game wears on. Our guys are playing almost the whole entire game.

I agree on Ratliff. We have one of the best 1 on 1 interior defensive linemen in the NFL and his efforts are being wasted at nose tackle, where he faces double teams regularly. We need a true NT (should have brought in Jamal Williams) who can do his role and eat up space + double teams so Ratliff can be free to play DE and dominate regularly.

I agree. You send McGee out there and you're telling the rest of the team that the season is a wrap. Now, that obviously is the *** as it is now, but you just don't do it unless Kitna absolutely stinks it up ala Brad Johnson.

I want to see Sean Lee with increased snaps.

I want see Bennett's playing time increased and take Witten off the field some.

I want see Dez continue to be incorporated into offense.

I also wan to see Jason Williams out there, so we can get a better feel if this kid has anything to him at all.

But Jimmy stood up against Jerry many times. Thats the ONLY type of coach that can work in Dallas.

I want to see Travis Bright and Costa on the Oline. Even Sean Young. Let all the young one play and see how they fair against the rush.

I also want Butler to start. Put Spencer in as ILB. Its time to mix up some players.
