Being a loyal DirectTV subscriber for 8 years, having the "premiere" package the entire time, and the Sunday Ticket since its inception, and then seeing that a new subscriber can obtain the same package for almost half of what I pay per month.


What grinds your gears?..............

Dude. You have GOT to learn how DTV works. You can get what you want at what you want to pay for the most part with them. Just be reasonable on what you want.

You just need to use some negotiating skills.

Do you know how much I pay each year for the Sunday Ticket? 99 dollars and that includes the Super Fan package.

It's all in how you deal with them and how good of a negotiator you are.

I don't even have a suped-up performance car, but then they drive up next to me and try to race,

even had a guy slow down once, let me pass, and then zoomed past me

I was on the phone with a woman for 28 minutes. Negotiating the best deal I could, and I did save a few bucks from what i was paying, but still not better than the new subscriber price.

As far as the sunday ticket goes, I've always gotten them to throw in the superfan and HD for free, but it was always more than $99. I think mine is $199.

How do you figure? Its the same technology. Same satellites beaming us the signal. I don't see how if I lived in Key West, and he lived in Seattle, how it would be different.

Besides, I think he's in Louisiana and I'm in Dallas, so its not too far away anyway, but I'd like to hear why you think it would matter, I'm curious.

There was rather wide discrepancy between your cost and his cost. And, as I recall, you live in a nice area around Dallas where the cost of living would be higher presumably than it is in Louisiana.

I don't know that costs would necessarily be different from region to region. I was simply offering a possible explanation as to why it's higher in your area.

You know what grinds my gears?

Not being able to read women's minds.

Like when you see that your wife is all sad and that makes you feel bad. You want to ease her pain, so you ask, "What's wrong, honey?" and she says, "YOU ******!!!"

Or it's 4:30 and time to leave work and you see your co-worker beating on her computer keyboard. You ask, "What's the problem?" wanting to help, and she says, "My computer's locked up! I'm just trying to turn this thing off so I can go home!". So, you press the off switch for a few seconds to turn it off and she says, "Well, hell! I could have done that!" and stalks out of the office.

Or when you're driving and notice that the car in the lane next to yours is swerving badly. You honk your horn a few times to get their attention back on the road and speed pass them by so that they won't sideswipe you. Then you glance over at them as you go by and she has this look of death on her face, while still holding a makeup compact in both hands.

... and that's what really grinds my gears.

I almost always get to the airport 2 to 3 hours early and arrive at my gate 2 hours early. When it comes time to board, I am always in the last zone to board. I have to watch everyone board before me. And of course, most of the carry-on luggage space has already been taken.

As I walk past the first class people already sitting with their drinks, I often "accidentally" step on their feet or bump them with my bag. I also feel no guilt if I just happen to release some gas in the first class section.

Get rid of this first class crap and go to first-come first serve. I think Southwest is like that. Never flew on Southwest yet.
