Ray Rice is going to be the best NFL back out of this whole group. I watched Rutgers everytime they played a top 20 team, and Rice ate them up. They lost big to West Virginia and Rice ran for 142 yards. They beat South Florida when they were ranked #2 in the country and Rice ran for 181 yards. They lost to UConn when they were ranked in the top 20 and he ran for 116 yards. He then ran for 280 yards in their Bowl game. He can block very well, is a good outlet back receiving the ball and nobody has this guys vision. He's very quick and powerful and rarely fumbles. I've been a cowboys fan for over 30 years and this guy has Emmitt writtin all over him. This kid is the real deal and if Barber went down i would be very thankful to have him. McFadden and jones block like girls and McFadden fumbles way to much. Take Rice at 28.

About S Florida. Stewart torched them or over 200 yards in the bowl game they played. But I see your point. I personally think Ray Rice is a good back.

RBs are a dime a dozen, and they usually have relatively short careers. Who's to know how well McFadden will hold up at this level. If we were picking top 10, I could see us moving to get him. But we aren't. No need to mortgage the future to get him.

Just to add I'm all for a cornerback at 22. Drafting a RB and CB will have the biggest impact on the 2008 Cowboys.

I like him, too, though nobody talks about him... I guess because he isn't fast or flashy.

He won't go as high as most of the guys mentioned in this thread, but I bet he's solid in all areas and a pretty decent pro.

Another good back. I think this is one of the better drafts in years for RB's, we absolutely do not need to reach and if we let Felix slide by or he's gone in the 1st, we will still be in a fine position to get someone.

Of the available RBs who could still be on the board when we pick, I hope we have a choice between, Jones, Mendenhall, Stewart and Rice. Although I see Rice as being the one who will probably still be on the board after the others are gone.

You know, I don't get why no one talks about him. Personally, I think he may have the best pure running instincts of any back in the draft. People like to talk about Ray Rice as a guy who just knows how to play football and that's exactly how Forte is. Outstanding vision, good feet, keeps his legs moving, can catch well, can block well...he's the real deal. Despite the speed difference he had more games with big runs than Chris Johnson, who everyone drools over.

Unlike daboyz4life I did like what I saw he reminds me alot of The Barbarian... Still like Johnsons explosiveness to much to pass him up plus Johnson gets to the house quicker...but that kid is very good

Ray rice is a bum and wouldn't be good for us he needs a lot of carries in order to be productive and most of you guys want MB3 to be the full time starter see the conflict?

How did you come up with that type of conclusion?

Rice just finds holes and gain yards. If Barber goes down, I want Rice running the back instead of a change of pace back. He has shown over two years that he can handle the load while being the focal point of the defense.

Draft the BEST back on the board. Don't be drafting a "complementary" back just because we "think" that's in vogue. Think if you have two Marion Barbers constantly pounding the D with that type of aggression..........holy cow.....8 in the box and TD to Owens or Witten over the top in no time.
