Right because offensive lines at the NFL level never open big holes, but Tulanes players who were in their first year of a running heavy scheme are consistent dominant forces. But hey, you better go tell Emmitt Smith that only sub 4.4 guys can hit holes. I think he has some rushing record, like most yards in a career or something even though he ran a 4.71 at his combine and his fastest recorded time was a 4.56.

1 you need to be careful when you use comparison to emitt smith

2 The cowboys O-line from back then had to be on off the best O-lines ever

3 Our O-line now doesn't compare to the oline back then

4. If you ask people cause i know i do they feel Emitt line made him what he was and thats why he brought them rolex's and barry sanders was the better of the two even though barry doesn't hold the record (not my words)

5 Don't mention a first ballot HOF to some bum from Tulane it makes him look really poorly (the HOF)

there's always exceptions to the rule are you saying Forte is the next Emmitt smith because if you are then i don't know why if your not never mention these to in the same sentence and if your trying to draw a parallel from the two having good blocking don't because its shoots your cred out of the window i don't think i need to go in to further detail as to why its like that

1. You need to work on your reading comprehension, I didn't compare him to Emmitt Smith.

2. Yes they were very good.

3. No it doesn't.

4. This isn't a debate about Barry and Emmitt. Emmitt was better at some things and Barry was better at some things. I think Walter Payton was the closest to some combination of the two. Who's the best? I think it's impossible to rank them. Who has the rushing record and the rushing TD record? Emmitt. Be careful when you start taking away a players accomplishments and saying he was a product of the system he was in or the players he played with.

5. Do you post drunk? Who said anything about first ballot HOF?

You're right, there are exceptions to every rule. Bravo, something you posted made sense. I never said that Forte would be the next Emmitt Smith, you put those words into my mouth. I didn't make any parallels to blocking, so I'm not sure why you mentioned that either. You said that Forte was too slow to hit holes at the NFL level. I brought up an example that showed you don't need 4.2 speed to hit holes. Here's another one for you though.

At last years combine All World RB Adrian Peterson ran a 4.4 40, the time for his 10 yard split was 1.53 seconds. Brandon Jackson ran 1 4.54 40, the time for his 10 yard split was 1.54 seconds. Ahmad Bradshaw ran a 4.55, his 10 yard split was 1.59 seconds. Maurice Jones Drew ran a 4.39 and had a 10 yard split of 1.59. The point? 40 times have NOTHING to do with a players ability to get to a hole.

Hell, Julius Jones and Michael Turner had the same 10 yard split...who do you think is better at getting through holes? Speed isn't everything in football. That's why MoJo Drew is a better RB than Brandon Jackson even though Jackson gets to the hole faster. Vision, leg drive, cutback ability, all of those things are more important than speed. Because if you don't have those other things then speed isn't going to help you one bit.

what did Barber run?

Barber ran a 4.53 at the combine and a 4.49 in his pro day.

In "realistic" terms that means he has about the same speed as a mall speed walker. You'll be lucky to see him break a 10 yard run next year.

I'm starting to come around on Ray Rice. He's a good runner with some wiggle.

My first choice is McFadden.....but he won't be there at 22.

Stewart is my second choice....but again, he won't be there either.

Right now, I'm liking Ray Rice third.

I'm not a fan, right now, of Chris Johnson. Sure, he's fast.....but there's more to it than speed. I watched his highlight reel on youtube. He was very impressive, but most of his runs were simply him out running everyone else. That's important....I'd love to have a home run hitter at RB. But is he another Tyson Thompson?

Another thing that bothers me about Johnson....How tough is he? I read somewhere that his coaches were thinking about moving him to WR because he kept breaking runs outside. Did he do this because he needed to grow and learn as a RB? or... Did he do it because he was skittish about going in where the big boys were?

A RB can NEVER....NEVER....be afraid. Now, I'm not saying CJ is...but the proposed move to WR should be a flag.

Mendenhall in the 1st if he's still available. If not, I'd trade out of the 2nd and take Charles in the early 3rd.

Besides Mcfadden what running back do you guys want....... If I had to choose I would pick Chris Johnson from East Carolina.. and Ill be honest Im going on one game of his I saw and a few highlights of his but man this guy is fast.. ..people are testing how tough he is but I saw that one long touchdown run against Boise St he ran right through two tackles and just coasted to the endzone...also I know he might not be the best overall RB in this draft but he is extremely fast and would be a perfect 3rd down back..plus the guy is a hell of kick returner.. just wanna see what you guys think and give some reasons
The RB I want is...Marion Barber III
