I don't see any double standard by suggesting that Torrin Tucker can't play in the NFL. Rob Pettitti probably can't play in the NFL for long either.

Are you serious. Pettiti was a rookie last year and he handled himself better over the course of 16 games than Tucker would have.

Petitti in 16 games had 8 penalities and 13.5 sack. He played hurt but never missed a snap. He got schooled by Strahan twice and Peppers - with those guys accounting for well over 1/2 of his sacks.

Tucker in 11 games (really 10 and change but I'm being generous). had 5 penalties and 12.5 sacks. That projects to 7 penalities and a whopping 18 sacks over a 16 game season. He got absolutely terrorized by guys like Phillip Daniels. That's Tucker in his THIRD year.

But it was what I saw in the Rams game that really made the difference - Petitti was getting beaten over and over by Leonard Little and he got very angry about it. Meanwhile Tucker was getting owned by Anthony (Who?) Hargrove -- Tucker just took his whooping quietly.

Tucker has had the benefits of two years in the off-season program and three full years learning the position. The bulk of the evidence indicates that Petitti has a shot and Tucker doesn't.

I agree with Eskimo, Tucker is playing out of position at tackle. He was a great guard in college and I think he should be moved back inside. Another option is to consider giving him a shot a center to compete with Johnson/Gurode

if he was a "great" guard je wouldnt have went undrafted

he was painfully average and was the same thing at S Miss that he is here...grossly inconsistent and plays uninspired football

Agreed.

He's the offensive lineman version of Randal Williams.

There are usually a couple of guys like this hanging around on the roster. People see the talent and think the player will eventually get it and turn into something good. You wait one year, then another, then another. At some point, you have to get rid of the guy and move on.
