Another player with red flags ignored before the draft. They invite these problems.
True, but that’s a best case scenario. But if two guys get hurt…which COULD happen…then what? This is how a good FO needs to think. Be prepared for the worst case scenario, not just the best. They do have Brown and Lewis, and also Wright. So I don't think there is a plan beyond those 3.
Brown did play decent last season overall.
Why should the team wait until he’s suspended to make a move? Good front offices don’t use hope as a strategy. With a suspension hanging over a player’s head, seems to me it would make sense to be prepared ahead of time- not wait until it happens.
If he was in the car when they shot someone and was involved in a fight before the shooting he can and maybe charged with the shooting. You don’t have to be the one that shot someone. If your in the car you can be charged with the same thing.
Not yet. I am feeling better about it because he has not been charged yet. But usually if you get into a fight. People leave and your in the car with 2 people that shoot and kill someone then your generally charged. He has the best lawyers I am sure. And may also depend on the witnesses and the statements of the shooters themselves.Simple question........has he been charged?
That’s a fair point. My understanding is this is the third place he’s been where coaches, teammates and other team officials have tried to help him stop putting himself in these positions.Honestly, Bob, the question in my mind is, are we talking about a kid with maturity issues but has talent or maturity issues with average talent. That matters if you wanna cut the cord after only a year or two. Just think it's a bit premature to pull the plug.
When a SEC school let's a secondary player walk away, I pay attention at the next level. It's not like LSU hasn't had their share of problem players and put up with them in the past.Honestly, Bob, the question in my mind is, are we talking about a kid with maturity issues but has talent or maturity issues with average talent. That matters if you wanna cut the cord after only a year or two. Just think it's a bit premature to pull the plug.
JJ has had a history of using the second round to try to get what he thinks is a top 10 pick with “issues”. Could be off field or injuries. I wonder if Gregory makes him think twice. Did he bail on JJ before or after the draft. JJ kept that kid around and kept him in the NFLs eyes. After the last suspension he could have cut ties and by the time he was elligible to play again no team would want to look at him. That’s a fair point. My understanding is this is the third place he’s been where coaches, teammates and other team officials have tried to help him stop putting himself in these positions.
KJ was suspended from the LSU team his freshman year before a bowl game for “serious violations of team rules”, whatever that means. At LSU- not exactly known for their off field image. He had played 11 games as a freshman for LSU.
He then transferred to U of Kentucky where he had to sit out a year because of then transfer rules. At UK, he played 9 games before leaving the team “to get ready for the NFL draft”. So he played only 20 college games before coming out for the draft.
His scouting report from NFL.com in 2021 did not have him as highly rated as the Cowboys drafted him. Link: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/kelvin-joseph/32004a4f-5322-1287-71cd-7df2402d9452
The off field stuff you usually don’t see in online scouting reports. But even before the 2021 draft, KJ was mentioned as a “troubled” player. As I mentioned earlier, The Ticket’s Bob Sturm had made comments on the radio that he had major concerns about his off field behavior and that many teams were shying away.
I’m all for giving guys a second chance. Just know that this isn’t KJ’s “second chance”.
So he played only 20 college games before coming out for the draft.
It's all ego with Booger. I thought it was funny that Booger thought that would buy him some love from Gregory at contract time.JJ has had a history of using the second round to try to get what he thinks is a top 10 pick with “issues”. Good question. I think KJ is certainly more athletic. Taco was a four yr player at Mich and played in over 40 games. He was not the most gifted player and he had way less upside than KJ. Taco was just seen as a “safe” pick that didn’t turn out. This while trying to also start a rapping career. This kinda highlights my point about immaturity. Let me ask you this .......we cut former 1st rounder Taco Charlton after only two years, the same as you are suggesting for KJ. My question........Is KJ as bad as Taco?

If he told the police who the shooter was, he better have a ton of bodyguards everywhere he goes.Has anything been done with this case so far? If he told the police who the shooter was, you would think there'd be charges by now ... unless there are conflict having statements.
Charleton was an overevaluation of talent and the same thing as Marcus Spears, not even one of the best players on a great defense. Same with Claiborne. Lot easier to cover when your DL is ripping up the pocket,This while trying to also start a rapping career. This kinda highlights my point about immaturity. If Kelvin Joseph really wants to be a successful NFL player- maybe even just a successful person in life, he needs to get serious about making changes.
They were friends of his and he had no choice once he had been identified and they turned themselves in.If he told the police who the shooter was, he better have a ton of bodyguards everywhere he goes.
KJ is potentially worse than Taco. This while trying to also start a rapping career. This kinda highlights my point about immaturity. They have nothing to lose giving him a chance, it's not like they've got a slew of CB's and he's taking up space.I read this many times from players over the years.......mostly having to cut ties with friends they grew up with. If this last incident doesn't his head right, nothing will. This is why I would him give one more year.
