What the heck was that review before the Maher 60 yard field goal before the half?

They are going to say there was no snap, because the call to review came in before the snap, like a last second time out to ice kicker, the ball might get snapped, but it's a "non play." Not saying this is right, but that's going to be the league's line on this.

If that's the case, it should've been whistled dead.

Complete BS.
  1. We completed it.
  2. Ran out the play clock.
  3. CALLED A FREAKING TIMEOUT.
  4. Sat around for the timeout.
  5. Lined up and kicked a 60 yarder.
THEN they review the catch!!!!!!???!!!

Bull crap.

Yeah the timing of the review was suspiciously odd. If you're going to challenge atleast do it right away or during the Cowboys timeout. I'm impressed Maher made it twice in a row.

A classic example of icing the kicker....except it was done by the refs.

Really, the refs shouldn't be able to run a booth review once the players enter the field following a time-out. They had plenty of time to look at it earlier.

but we've all seen plenty of plays ran over the years where they come back and say they were buzzed before the snap.
Yeah but usually there is some commotion to alert the fan or the commentators that something is up as the ball is being snapped or just after. The celebration was winding down before they indicated anything.

There was indication right after the play. CBS just focused on the celebration, so it was easy to miss.

The delay was extreme, but we've all seen plenty of plays ran over the years where they come back and say they were buzzed before the snap.

Surprised at so many pretending they haven't. Selective memory, I guess?
It’s happened before, but that’s the only time I’ve ever seen it happen the way it did today. A lot of time passed between when the catch occurred and the first FG attempt took place. If they were going to review it, they should have done it a lot quicker than they did. The NFL got very lucky that Maher made the rekick, otherwise, there would have been a LOT of pissed off people…not that the NFL gives a rat’s ***…
