what the hell is wrong with this team?

bad drafts + too much loyalty to vets + bad free agency decisions.

quarterback....check.

running back....still looking for someone to remain healthy b/c we didn't draft johnson or mendenhall years ago.

oline...terrible drafts for the last decade. houck = fraud. overpaid leonard davis. no capable backups very many years

wide receivers...no legit slot receiver, bad route running...overpaid for austin.

tight end...check.

defensive line...a collection of jags. zero interior pressure on qbs.

linebackers...brooks reed was drafted two picks after bruce carter. spencer is what he is. bradie james and brooking are still here b/c jason and bradon williams were bust.

secondary...mediocre play is rewarded here. sensy, scan both paid for mediocrity. elam is tough but not a playmaker. newman is an albatross. no youth...depth is atrocious.

That about sums it up.

It's a myriad of things that have led us to this point. And most of falls squarely on the shoulders of Jerry and Stephen Jones.

Are people really this upset about today's game?

It meant nothing. If we won, it was always going to be 30-27 or something. Without Romo, clearly that was going to be impossible. They are a bad matchup, and they're going home while we can still win the division.

We can win next week, and we can beat the Lions or Falcons at home.

Players are too busy reading that they suck on the Zone every day so they start to eat the stinky cheese.

Id be shocked if that's the case. Not many threads at CZ are animated or contain pop up pictures.

basically if you want to pin point it to one person, it's jerry jones.

he has control over all aspects of this organization and he is the one consistent in these 16 years of misery (well campo too).

if you want to blame the players, blame the man who is responsible for personnel decisions.

if you want to blame the head coach, blame the man who hires the coach.

Success and/or failure starts from the top

Rebuilding year, both from a coaching standpoint and from a player's standpoint to a degree. The Eagles were in a rebuilding mode last year and made the playoffs with a HC with a decade of experience under his tent/belt.

Give Garrett 5 years more experience and we'd be 11-4 right now.

We need parts and pieces here and there, but we're also going to improve the valuable pieces we already have during the offseason.

Finally the voice of reason.

Rob Ryans quote about the Eagles before the season looks pretty stupid now don't it?

Maybe somebody will hire him as a head coach. :lmao2:

This team is brutal to it's fans.

Without Tony Romo this team wins 5 games max.

we have lost 3 out of our last 4 games while in the midst of a divisional title race. the importance of momentum may be somewhat over-emphasized, but nonetheless we seem to have none of it right now, which is not good.

rob ryan?

garrett?

weak , stupid players?

i'm going to be honest.... say the jets won....even had romo not been injured..we would have got our *** kicked.

our o- line knows that we might have to go in to next week possibly with mcgee as our starter and they just allow him to get rocked time and time again.

you didn't name the biggest problem with this team and organization...JERRY JONES...and until that changes, this team will remain mediocre at best

Aside from a handful of players, we are not that good. Feel bad for guys like witt and ware.

Agree Quest, but right now we're worse than mediocre.

Friggin post of the decade. Nailed it.

I hope Tony R. is still alive and healthy five years from now.

Wonder how long it will take before the Cowboys start losing good players like Ware, Lee or others....to other teams so they can win a Championship before they retire....

Best point that has been made in this total conversation. I give Jerry credit for the sucess this team had in the early 90's but to be fair he deserves not all but much of the blame for the team failures from 96 until the present. The problem is he won't change and the team will continue this downward spiral until they hit rock bottom and they will because the window is closing on this football team. They have a 3 year window and year 1 will end soon and I don't see things getting better under his leadership. They were a .500 teamfor the last decade and already under .500 for this decade. What will change?

For awhile now, the front office has been mediocre. This is no great secret. It struggles to consistently bring in top tier talent, making it nigh impossible to acquire enough top tier talent to compete among the league's elite.

Consequently, the Cowboys can only make the playoffs on a sporadic basis, and they're usually one and done when they do.

Jerry has reached a point in his life where he isn't likely to improve anymore. He is what he is. And, thus far, Stephen isn't inspiring much hope either (if he's truly as involved as people claim).

Doesn't this all point to our general manager ??

As much as VR would like to have us believe the contrary, the culture really has yet to change...

they have NO heart and NO balls.....Jwit and Romo and Ware and Lee don't fall into that category...but smiley Austin and Smiley Spencer and Carefree Frank Walker do: they don't care if they win or lose. I really believe that: they show it on the field and off. Team needs to be GUTTED: especially on defense, and I think it will be soon enough.

The core players on this team are veterans in their early 30s. It's often difficult to unlearn what you have learned.

Simple. We suck in the trenches. Until that changes we'll always struggle.
