JJ and Co will at least franchise Pollard this yr, if for no more than blind loyalty. Which I'm okay with overall. Even off the injury I believe Pollard will be productive another couple of seasons. Draft another this yr to share the backfield and see where you are

With Pollard injury, the RB position could be a complete makeover. We can't make the same error with Pollard that We made with Gallup and give him a big contract while he's injured. Pollards market isn't going to be nearly as robust and we have to use that leverage to get him resigned to something proportional to the risk he's not going to be the same explosive player. Zeke has to go, and we have to draft somebody in round 3 or 4, hopefully.

it’s time for a new RB room with a modern ideology of cap allocation. Draft a few young guys and build up the OL

I don't have a problem with that. There is some concern with the injury and usually kinda reluctant at a second contract, but Pollard just hasn't been used very much. Pollard doesn't have much wear and tear on him as most RBs looking for a second contract. I wouldn't be adverse to a team friendly 2 year deal.

After the Gallup hiccup, I like the franchise tag route. Ideally I'd suggest transition tag, but for some reason it's rarely used

What has Malik Davis shown that he can talk over RB1.. going back to college say this guy has never rushed for more than 530 yards in a season.

Davis is a depth guy nothing more nothing less and thats why we didn't see him when Pollard went down.

You sound nuts my friend, there's no doubt of what he USED TO BE, you and other fans feel like these players never decline in play or something ESPECIALLY a running back?? Lol

He is not himself and he's making a lot of money not doing much, it's time to look elsewhere
I may be misunderstanding your post, but mine was sarcasm. to clarify I’ve always felt zeke was overrated.

oh in any case, thx for the polite reply. :star:

DO NOT sign Pollard. HELL NO. He is damaged and heading into his second deal. Running backs rarely play better on their 2nd contract. Stats show its a drop off. He has been hurt the last 2 years. I hate it but we can draft another guy and we have Malik Davis. Zeke will be cut.

Day 2 pick on a RB, that's the sweet spot. Knowing Jerry, he'd take Bijon in the 1st but I think he'll go a little ahead of us.
Most years recently, only one or two RB's go in the first. Gibbs may be the #2 and a borderline late first rounder, but the position is so deep should be several available on day 2.

Clyde Edward's was never ever fast and he was not big. How the Chiefs picked him number 1 a few years ago was nuts. Unlike us KC learned from their mistake moved on.

Zeke has to be gone. If he had been cut from another team for cap reasons he would be lucky to be brought in to training camp to try to earn a job. The league can see there is no tread on the tires.

Pollard maybe franchised and then draft 2 rookies.
I could see a team like SF picking Zeke up on a cheap deal and playing Zeke exclusively on 3rd and 2 or goal to go on the 2 or less and Zeke being a valuable pickup.

This is why I would give Pollard a franchise tag in a heartbeat, but I'm tapping the breaks on a long term deal. 1 year of a high salary wont kill you, but you need to have a replacement ready to go for 2024.
His youngest year left.

We don't have a QB that can run, nor do we have Patrick Mahomes. If we want a good run game, it's probably going to cost more even after Zeke leaves.

Money well spent.
Now franchise TP or strike a deal.
Idk if this is a joke or not.
It was a stupid deal, the vast majority of his production came before the new contract. LET. POLLARD. WALK

Yeah, we all know the Zeke contract was a major blunder, this is not exactly breaking news to anybody here.

I am of the belief that you do not give RBs a second contract unless they are Derrik Henry and can move the pile 5 yards own your own or stiff arm guys into the 5th row.

That is why I let Pollard walk, he aint worth $10 mill a year on the tag.
