With the time remaining, you simply HAVE to make them burn that time out. I don’t mind the pass as much as the low probability play design/execution. We went for a Jimmy ‘92 at candlestick just poorly executed. You still run or maybe call a boot/option where Dak can run if nothing’s there. They had too many plays to run (Jax) to effectively get in position without that TO in their back pocket barring a huge defensive breakdown. There’s plenty of blame to go around for the loss, but it’s CATASTROPHIC the way we managed the game after that gift of a fumble.

By my count this makes three games in the McCarthy era lost due to poor clock management. This game, the Green Bay game and the opener against Tampa last year. In all of those games the Cowboys had the ball in control with a chance to salt it away and in each case they made bone-headed decisions in clock management to allow the other team a shot to beat them. There is simply no excuse for this to be happening over and over.

A shorter route doesnt guarantee a completion. And had the pass been underneath and the guy get tackled before the FD, you guys would be complaining the route was too short.

And if the Cowboys defense makes but ONE play, we arent talking about this.

Bottom line is you dont like the play because it didnt work. If Moore runs the ball there and they kick the FG to win............AGAIN you complain that he didnt try to get the FD.

And why couldnt Zeke or Pollard make some yards on first or 2nd down? LOL

AGain, its nitpicky nonsense.
The defense, bad as it was at times..still gave you TWO stops (similar to the Texans game) in the moments that really mattered. One in regulation (forced fumble) and one in OT (a 3 and out). And how does the offense act? A three and out...and an INT. Just six plays, with two of them being disastrous. This was the Green Bay game all over again. A game they supposedly had learned from.

Kellen Moore's cute nonsense coupled with Prescott's seeming reticence to challenge and/or check out of said nonsense on the field is going to cost a lot of fans yet more heartbreak before this is over. Prescott seems too enamored with him to challenge calls, which might be at least one of the reasons why Cooper had to go. McCarthy's hands ain't clean in this either...and his public demeanor (defiance bordering on arrogance) betrays that he has no leash on Moore...as such, his "simple decisions" become horrendous gaffes at the worst time. This is the type of stuff that ultimately gets a coach fired.

Like a frog slowly boiling in a pot of water, not ONE of the three had a moment of pause to ask themselves just what the hell they were trying to do with leaving Jax with a timeout. Sobering thought for the playoffs. The likelihood that the nexus of McCarthy-Prescott-Moore can deliver three consecutive gaffe-free games on the road against the best NFC teams seems questionable at this point. Highly questionable. Personally, I don't see it.

Cute, clueless and funky football is gonna get you beat more times than not. If Dak is gonna be that guy who ONLY does what he's told then I'm not sure how the Cowboys get over the hump.

What is this??????? We chose THIS over making them use their timeout? This is on Kellen and McCarthy.

Jimmy Johnson stated the Cowboys lost this game because they got too "cutesy" on that play. He said they should have forced Jacksonville to take that 3rd timeout which WOULD have won them the game. Between the insanely poor play of Prescot and the ridiculous play calling by Moore, this club is doomed and for MM to stand on the sideline and give his blessings to these off the wall plays, he needs to be replaced with Sean Payton immediately after they are bounced out of the ONE and DONE playoff game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, they literally(all 3) ran down the field with a very slight curve to the left. That isn’t a good design in sandlot football. Had it worked it wasn’t a good design.

Why are you acting so weird about this? It was a bad play design. If it was your idea and that’s why you’re mad, **** you and Kellen for listening to you on a key play.

LOL............so everything is based off some route picture you saw that was drawn up? Have you actually watched the play over again?

Again, they both run the #1 scoring offense in football. A bunch of fans crying about a couple plays here and there that didnt work is laughable.

Im not a big Moore fan, but its comical to listen to the arm chair QB's get mad when a play doesnt work. And you never hear the same guys compliment when the play works.

It was a terrible play design for the situation. All you have to do is watch the highlights to see all 3 receivers go deep and Shultz/Pollard stay in to block. Even Olsen called a pass play before the snap. Hell they didn’t even make the defense guess between run or pass.

Just the WORST play design. Have to make the Jags use that timeout. Run, swing pass, anything but that garbage. So frustrating, but not as frustrating as blowing a 17 point lead.

34 points wins over 90% of games. Not last week for us, though.

Come on man. Moore still gets too cute in too many places. We saw it last year and we see it again this year. He doesn't always give Prescott a place to go with the ball on these all-vertical, man-beating routes. What did they run in OT on that fateful third down play (pick 6)? A rub/pick concept. Why not run THAT on the last drive in regulation, rather than throw a low percentage, max protect shot against the sideline? Or...a bootleg...or...simply, run the damn ball and force the Jaguars to take their final timeout. Or get the ball into the hands of the best RAC guys on the team...Lamb or Pollard.

The number one scoring offense comes with an asterisk. They are worse as an offense this year than where they "finished" last year, and certainly not near where they were in 2019, when Prescott finished the year with a QBR of 71.9. There is a reason why they've gone after first Cooks, then OBJ and now Hilton. If you only consider points per game in macro (including points scored by the defense and short fields) you are NOT getting the entire picture. This offense is NOT currently better than the one we saw the first six weeks of 2021. It's just not.

That’s simply ignorant. I’m not often critical. I’m not sure I’ve ever pointed out a play and said “that sucks”.
This one did.

If you listen to Kurt Warner’s breakdown you’ll hear him critique many of Moore’s route concepts when they are bad and this one was bad imo. It’s what people do when they analyze football. They look at plays that didn’t work, see why, and make suggestions on what may work better.

You’ve developed a persecution complex of sorts and it’ll help you see more clearly if you work through that and you maybe gain some perspective and be able to see a bad play play and learn that it’s ok to point that out.

LOL............Kurt Warner

Why didnt Warner go over the Vikings game?
Because people point out plays that didn’t work and how to improve them as a way to help instruct coaches and players. He states that very clearly on the last show. A show about how coaches never make bad plays could be your idea, and you’re free to make that show and prove that analysis is something the market is missing.

Dude, you’ve taken sensitive to a weirder level.
