A shorter route doesnt guarantee a completion. And had the pass been underneath and the guy get tackled before the FD, you guys would be complaining the route was too short.
And if the Cowboys defense makes but ONE play, we arent talking about this.
Bottom line is you dont like the play because it didnt work. If Moore runs the ball there and they kick the FG to win............AGAIN you complain that he didnt try to get the FD.
And why couldnt Zeke or Pollard make some yards on first or 2nd down? LOL
AGain, its nitpicky nonsense.
The defense, bad as it was at times..still gave you TWO stops (similar to the Texans game) in the moments that really mattered. One in regulation (forced fumble) and one in OT (a 3 and out). And how does the offense act? A three and out...and an INT. Just six plays, with two of them being disastrous. This was the Green Bay game all over again. A game they supposedly had learned from.
Kellen Moore's cute nonsense coupled with Prescott's seeming reticence to challenge and/or check out of said nonsense on the field is going to cost a lot of fans yet more heartbreak before this is over. Prescott seems too enamored with him to challenge calls, which might be at least one of the reasons why Cooper had to go. McCarthy's hands ain't clean in this either...and his public demeanor (defiance bordering on arrogance) betrays that he has no leash on Moore...as such, his "simple decisions" become horrendous gaffes at the worst time. This is the type of stuff that ultimately gets a coach fired.
Like a frog slowly boiling in a pot of water, not ONE of the three had a moment of pause to ask themselves just what the hell they were trying to do with leaving Jax with a timeout. Sobering thought for the playoffs. The likelihood that the nexus of McCarthy-Prescott-Moore can deliver three consecutive gaffe-free games on the road against the best NFC teams seems questionable at this point. Highly questionable. Personally, I don't see it.
Cute, clueless and funky football is gonna get you beat more times than not. If Dak is gonna be that guy who ONLY does what he's told then I'm not sure how the Cowboys get over the hump.
