What was your most exciting win as a Cowboys fan?

It has to be SB 27. But to pick something more recent, I'm going with the 2019 win on the road in Pittsburg.

And this was before teams could cut leads like that. The league was still 50/50 run and pass. What was so disappointing about that year is we finally had a complimentary receiver to Irvin and he got hurt. It was a deadly combination too. Greg Ellis was a beast that year also. I liked our chances but he also got hurt and he was never the same IMO. He went from being a game changer to a solid player.

As a counterpoint to the most disappointing loss thread on the front page... what was your favorite or most exciting win as a Cowboys fan?

I'm too young to have watched the Super Bowl teams. My favorite win was seeing Dallas beat the Seahawks in 2014. We went on the road against the defending SB champs. After falling behind in the 4th quarter, Romo completed a 3rd and 20 pass to keep a do-or-die drive going, and then DeMarco Murray bulled through Richard Sherman for the go-ahead TD with 3 minutes to go. Watching that TD run is about as excited as I've ever been in my life.

The '99 opener in Washington. We were down 21 points in the 4th quarter and came back. It was the only road game we won that year. That same play was called for Rocket earlier in the game but he dropped it. He caught it in OT.

Speaking of #22, I’ll throw out the win at the meadowlands in late ‘93 when he put the team on his back (while playing through a separated shoulder no less) to help secure the #1 seed.

Post season aside, the most thrilling win was the 1979 season finale versus Washington, winner goes to the playoffs and loser goes fishing. Giving them back their wreath was the sweetest!

1992 – Super Bowl XXVII And it being pretty much a blowout, also exciting to be back in the bowl in a while and totally stoked up the entire game watching a totally dominant Cowboy's Team

That's the one. That '92 Super Bowl win was like no other ! ! !

The many 'come from behind' Heart Attack Cowboys wins with Roger Staubach.

Beating the Vikings with the "Hail Mary" pass and catch was special.

Manhandling the Packers twice in one season, on the way to the Super Bowl in the 90's.

Emmitt refused to leave the game too. It was so funny seeing Dan Snyder in the owners box cheering for his team. He was so happy and it was his very first game as the owner. Washington came to play and then imploded the last 10 minutes.

That was during that stretch where we owned Washington. They would invent ways to lose to us. What was the streak, 18 or 19 straight wins against them? I think it started in '97.

For many personal reasons, it was the 1995 NFC Championship Game against the Packers. I was 17 and assumed they Cowboys would win the Super Bowl automatically if they just got there (because at the time the talk was the AFC was "inferior"). So once Emmitt scored to put the Cowboys up by 11, I began celebrating winning the Super Bowl. Yes, they did indeed beat Pittsburgh, but that game ended up being a lot tougher than teenaged me anticipated.

There is something so special about those types of performances by underdogs or unknowns.

In that same vein, even though the Boys lost I still remember the game when Parcells came out after halftime and said to the sideline reporter “we’re putting the kid in” and Romo made his debut. Could tell it was the start of something special.

What was your most exciting win as a Cowboys fan?​

Answer: Super Bowl XXVII. I never thought anything would ever top the joy I felt watching a team win during my childhood in the 70s. It had been a long descent since the franchise had fallen from the upper echelon of the National Football League...

Three straight NFC Championship losses.

A wild card loss that revealed much that I flat-out refused to acknowledge.

Then my first real hard look at life without either Roger Staubach or Danny White.

Then a true mirage 10-6, NFC East championship season with White punctuated by an utter humiliation at the hands of the Super Bowl Shuffle.

Then 7-9. 7-8 (back when I thought replacement players could not be topped). 3-13. 1-15. Finally. Hope returning with Miami Hurricanes/Jimmy Johnson magic setting in. 7-9. 11-5. Sure. The team lost to Detroit. Lost badly, in fact, BUT I saw the look in the coach's eyes. And in the players' eyes. Sheer gritty, hard-nosed play right out of the gate. Eagles rocked me for a week. Unwavering gritty play again. Then the stutter step against the Rams (freaking Jim Everett/Jim Rome would eventually give me some satisfaction). Back to never-say-die play again. Then <expletive> Washington.

The forge did its job. Flake off Atlanta. Chicago? You're dismissed. Beating the Eagles was a second helping of revenge best served cold...

The 49ers. AT Candlestick. Close game. 4th quarter. Clutch drive. Clutch throw. Clutch catch.

I held my breath for two weeks, but I already knew almost everything to come. I just didn't foresee the beatdown. That is what had me screaming like a banshee in the middle of the street with my wife yelling at me to bring my <expletive> back inside the house.

Yep. Super Bowl XXVII. The Cowboys were back, baby. Final answer.
