What will Stephen (and his siblings) actually do once Jerry's gone?

If Jerry were to croak today, I think Stephen would promote up from VP and name McClay GM. Down the line, he would name whoever is GM in all but name like McClay is.

People would then have someone more in line for blame and nothing really would change about how the Cowboys are run.

My gut instinct: Business as usual with Stephen in the main chair now.

A sliver of hope: Stephen remains but promotes Will McClay to GM or hires one.

A real hope: They sell the team.

Shall be interesting to see. All the family members currently have their hand in the pot now, but once Jerry is gone, greed may make them want to stick their hands in a little deeper. That can indeed create rifts in families. That could lead to fights and legal battles. This franchise is a money printing machine though. I couldn't imagine them wanting to sell it unless they're all interested in living the rest of their lives on a yacht floating off a warm beach somewhere (I know I would at my older age. Go enjoy life instead of running a stressful franchise). Time shall tell!

If hanging at the rim is such a money maker....

I dont see how Will McClay would ever have success here if the Family is refusing rebuilds or refusing to increase the bottom line by hiring more team staff.

He could...its just harder

I say Stephen and Will try to win one early, after Jerry hands it over officially, by doing all the things that arent 'hanging at the rim' the first few years...and then I tell Will to wait until an amazing offer comes along, pursue it for his own Glory...and that he will always have a job back in Dallas....but go get that Glory.

Im sure the money and happiness in Dallas would be hard to forgo for Will, though.

Stephen and Will should act like outlaws to 'hanging at the rim' first few years and see what happens.
