What will the Cowboys' RB room look like in 2023?

The return on investment for $11 million wasn’t there. That’s not opinion.
If you include the injury, possibly. But for what he gave this offense when he was healthy it was worth it for last year. Especially with Cooper being let go. 10 million for Shultz was much better money spent than 22 million for Cooper.

Now if you want to say 12 million for Gallup was not worth it, then Im right there.

We wish he falls that far. I have no problem locking him up for 5 yrs. That's an instant upgrade with a playmaker.
His skills will be diminished if dont fix the Oline. Much better off getting a guard in round 1 and taking another skilled back later in the draft.

But if no one else is there, I wouldnt be opposed to it. Or if they sign a good guard in FA.

As long as they can replace him properly. I don't think that is going to be that easy, I am kind of for the tag for 1 year to see him on the field full time as opposed to sharing with the hapless Zeke!
Im not totally against it. I just want them to focus on the Oline. And this is a great year for backs in FA and in the draft.

Travis Kelce counted $8.5 million against the Chiefs’ 2022 cap.

Schultz counted $11 against the Cowboys 2022 cap.

Poor Kelsy getting ripped off.

Although it was one of the reasons Shultz tag amount was so low.

They're gonna sign Pollard to a 4/42 deal. Theyll, probably cut Zeke outright or give him 5mil/yr and we'll keep Davis.

You have made your opinion perfectly clear. I dont share it.

Cowboys passing game without Shultz last year would have looked much different. In a bad way.

Pure conjecture.
You mean its an opinion? Indeed.

And who knew how effective the other young TE's would be? Gallup missing the first 4 or 5 games. Shultz was almost a must at the time especially with Cooper gone.

But again, that is pure conjecture right?

Cooper ties in to my issues with franchise tagging Schultz and paying Gallup. They made the decision to pay those two instead which proved a huge mistake.

Zeke (on a BIG pay cut)
Veteran FA RB
Rookie RB(2nd or 3rd)

I'm not sold on paying that Franchise tag cost for Pollard. It is really high for a player coming off an injury.

Definitely the right move. As cooper was oft injured, disappeared for halves and games and was nowhere worth 22 million per year for the next 3 years. They wanted to make the move to Lamb as the #1. Again, it was the right move. Lamb is the real deal. Cooper was stunting his development and ceiling.

Shultz was a stop gap thing and was smart using the tag. Nice price for a top pass catching TE that you can get out of next season.

Gallup for the moment doesnt look good. But again, they have an out after next season I believe if he doesnt fully recover.

What Cowboys wanted was flexibility while giving themselves passing weapons for last season. They accomplished that.

Anything where Zeke is still here is a waste. Cant believe there are still any of you left.

Say it as many times as you’d like. It wasn’t ‘the right move’.

Let both RBs walk. Put the funds on the OL and draft their replacements.

Had Pollard not been injured in the Frisco game, I would have advocated for tagging him. Now, I’m not as enthusiastic. We need to release Zeke as a post June 1, draft a RB, maybe even obtain a younger veteran in FA.
In today’s NFL, it makes almost zero sense to commit big amounts of cap space to the RB position.
