What Would A Loss to New Orleans Mean?

It would mean a lot more to our psyche than to our playoff chances.

According to playoffstatus.com, we have a 60 percent chance of making the playoffs right now. If we lose, it drops to 58 percent -- hardly any change at all.

However, if we win, our chances of making the playoffs go up to 87 percent.

That site says we have a 45 percent chance of making the playoffs at 9-7 -- and a 6 percent chance of making it at 8-8, as disgusting as that would be.

It would mean that we still haven't won there since '94. It would also mean we'd be extra motivated to beat the Skins, which is never a bad thing.

No playoffs if we lose to the saints. Confidence will no longer exist and we'll go 8-8

This is such a frustrating team, but I haven't given up on them either.

The same site that has the Colts at less than a 1% chance of winning the AFC?

Their projections for the playoffs (games in the playoffs, not making the playoffs) obviously have a glitch or something.

I think the idea is a strange one. I didn't see their methodology, do they predict wins and losses in upcoming games, or just base it upon what has historically happened in similar situations?

this page gives us basically a 50/50 chance. And they use game propabilities. You download a little program and play around with the percentage of each game and see what you get. And they assume 25% win chance at NO, 60% at WAS and 50% vs Philly

When we lose to the Saints (not even going to use "if" ), our record for December will drop to 0-3 and our record for the season will have gone from 8-3 to 8-6.

WE THEN CANNOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS BY SIMPLY WINNING OUT!!!!!

We will need help from other teams at that point, specifically the Giants losing to whoever will benefit us the most.

Also note that if Philly wins (which we all know they will), they then take a 2 game lead in the division. We would then need the Eagles to lose their last 2 games for us to win the division. (almost no chance of that happenning.)

So basically when we lost to the Chargers, we lost the division and the playoff home game that would have come with that.

Philly has hard games too. The 49ers still have a chance after last night. After Philly, they play the Rams and Lions. A win vs Philly most likely gets them to 9-7 where they own the tie breakers over us and the Giants if I'm not mistaken. Definitely no gimme for the Eagles. Then they get the Broncos in the middle of their playoff run. And then us. Philly can go from 0-3 to 3-0 in the stretch.
I think it's a little premature to call the division. There is still a reasonable chance for us to win the division at 10-6. Not that I'm predicting that but it's still possible.

I think the 49ers will be giving Philly a hard time next week. They're playing to stay a playoff contender.

The 49ers are playing us after a nice victory over the Cardinals. In fact, they stopped Arizona from taking their division. They will not stop the Eagles. It may not be pretty, but the Eagles will take the game and the "W."

I'd be willing to say that Dallas has a better chance of beating the Saints than the 49ers have in beating the Eagles.

Man, if this bunch of wussies wants to give their fans something to cheer about, they'll go out on Saturday and actually play with a little emotion or fire or balls. Stop playing like robots. The team has no life. They need to kick that attitude to the curb. Being boring worked for the Patriots but they had talent and good coaching. This boring, sleepwalking offense can't succeed unless they actually get a kick in the ***.

The Cowboys would actually have a chance if they stopped moping, whining, sulking and crying when things go wrong. They need to be tough and hungry...Every week I keep hoping to see the Boys play with emotion the way the Giants and Packers played us....Every week I get let down...This game could either a)be a turning point for the franchise if they win and change the direction of the team or b) just like the last couple of saints games where the team was status quo and sleepwalked their way through the whole 60 mins and got beat the hell up

I think Dallas gets in at 9-7. The Giants will fold twice more this season.

But playing the Eagles two weeks in a row is going to suck.

Its up to Carolina and Washington.

The Vikings will rest their players in week 17.

So we need them to lose 1 of those 3 games.

Ugh, seriously go away. Where were you when Philly was 5-4? Now you're leading the division and you come back...riiiight. Somebody ban this dude.
