What Would A Loss to New Orleans Mean?

If the Cowboys do lose in New Orleans, what are the scenarios and outcomes for the final 2 weeks?

If Philly, GB, and the Giants win, that would place the Cowboys as outside looking in correct?

Is that the worse case scenario for this weekend?

I think a loss will result in total anarchy in Dallas as well as here.

even though 95% of the board thinks we lose anyway.

The bottom line is that we can still win the last two games and make it in. Just that it would mean that we HAVE to win those.

Honestly, I believe that many circled this as a loss when the Saints got off to that fast start and just never looked back.

Again, for a while now, I have been saying that if we lose, if shouldn't be as big of a deal as it obviously is now because everyone in the Division will and has lost to them so it would be a wash.

If the Cowboys get blown out by the Saints, I believe it could be severely detrimental to the psyche of this team.

Not much as far as the fanbase and the team are concerned. A loss to the Saints is expected, so Dallas Cowboys nation will be prepared. For the standings, though, it would half our playoff chances.

I think Dallas gets in at 9-7. The Giants will fold twice more this season.

But playing the Eagles two weeks in a row is going to suck.

not exactly. If we lose to the Saints and the Giants win, they have to lose one of the last two games to go 9-7. We need to win both games. Remember, the Giants play the Vikings the last game and they might have a their seed all wrapped up and not play their starters. If the Packers win this weekend, they would have to lose their last two games for the Cowboys to have a shot. They could because they play the Steelers and Cardinals but the Cards might not play their starters since they could have their seed all wrapped up too. go to the yahoo playoff simulator and it will show all this.

I think the 49ers will be giving Philly a hard time next week. They're playing to stay a playoff contender.

To my nonstats oriented eye, if we lose to the Saints, we'd require a loss by both the Giants in one of the next two games (I assume they will beat the 'resting' Vikings); and the Eagles in one of their next two games; and then we will have to win against both the Commanders and the Eagles to end the season.

That would take the division I think...

Yep, you are right. I just went through it again....if we lose this weekend AND then win out, NY has to lose at least one game. My bad.

Washington has been playing tough....they will be a real test for NY this weekend.

Shoot, we have 3 TOUGH tests coming...including Washington.

That would be true....since we have to play the Eagles, that would be one of their losses if we win.

See my previous post.

Thanks. I just could not remember all of the scenarios. It would be easy if the Cowboys just win out. Case close then.

C.R.A.P will be as happy as McCordsville at a Quinn and Owens pool party.

If the Vikings play their starters for even half the game just to keep them fresh going into the bye, that could be enough to beat a still overrated Giants team. The Giants secondary is putrid.

Also, the Giants left all they had on the field against Philly; I'd be surprised if they beat Washington next week, and, despite their record this year, the Panthers are almost an even match against NY.

Thanks! Now we don't have to search around to figure out who all gets the Rah Rahs each week!

And Kudos for the Chesty Puller quote: 1st Marines saved my grandfathers's life in Korea.

I'm glad they saved his life.

When I saw that quote, I thought it was great!
