One thing for sure is it is NOT a must win game. Although a win would be huge to build confidence. But it is a game that IF the Cowboys show up and bro g their “A” game they can and should win. I no longer worry about the opponent, I worry about the Cowboys and which team will show up. Consistency is what I’m looking for.
not a must win for playoffs - but might be a must win if they are going to win the division. If they win, they are division leaders at mid season, if they lose they are going to be 2 games back against the best team in the NFL. I don't know that they are going to catch them with our schedule down the strech should they lose

They are beatable ... we need to show we have the dawg to beat them senseless if they struggle like they did against the Commodes and beat them soundly even if they play well. In other words, we need to show we are better no matter how they play.

What would it mean? It would mean they’re beatable. It would mean Dallas has momentum. It would mean Philly’s screaming, hateful, snarky, chest thumping, moronic fanbase would quiet down for a few days. It would mean the talking heads would invent new ways to make excuses for Philly, and myriad reasons why we’ll fail down the line.

Not much. Ties us (well technically we'd be behind by half a game, but at least tied in loss column) for the best record in the NFC. But with more than half the season left, too early to put a ton of stock in a win here.

Some one made a thread saying next weeks game is not a must win. However, here is what a win or a loss means as to % of winning the division.
yes, many more games to go.

No playoffs is currently at 23% and a win moves us to 13%. A loss drops us to 25%. A win increases our HFA from 11% to 18%

An Eagles win or loss does not change much of anything for them. It just increases their HFA to 65% from 55%. A loss also decreases their chance for the division from 55% to minus 37%. If I looked at that correctly.

So this game means more to Dallas than it does the Eagles as far as that goes. Therefore to me it is a must win to put ourselves in control of the NFCE. Also on the path to HFA. As we are tied with Seattle at 11% for that behind Philly

Beat Philly, then they have a bye week, we play the Panthers. We can get even with the Eagles at 7-2, but technically be in first with the 1 game head to head.
So Dallas can control it's own destiny with a win.
Yes, we have control of how successful we will be this season.... or not.

It would mean that we continue to fare very well against them, a trend some just won't acknowledge. A win next week would be ecstatic and put fear and doubt in their hearts.
Given the post-Dallas collapse of the 49ers, and Philly's exposure of the Fins, it might mean Dallas is again in the same conversation as best in the league.

But they absolutely cannot get hammered like they did against SF. I think a close game, they stay in that discussion, win or lose.

We've played two teams with winning records. Blew one out. Got blown out. Granted the one we blew out was the Jets who despite not having a losing record isn't exactly a great team either.

Who knows what team shows up Sunday PM.

Assuming they didn’t write up their own schedule, what would? Be careful about answering “win playoff games”.
I don’t concern myself with playoff games until they are actually here. I don’t get into the past teams we played either. Every year is different. I don’t constantly whine that nothing matters because we get bounced again….as I said every year is different, I do not dwell on the past.

It means almost nothing after seeing the collapse of the 49ers. The goal posts will continue to change. The Cowboys have to win a Super Bowl. That is all that matters. If we lose we are still in great position to make the playoffs. If we win we have a chance to get to 9-2 because it appears the Giants, Carolina, and Washington are done.
Maybe make it past the divisional round lol…

..throw in the fact. Eagles still in middle of tough schedule, after bye. Ending with us at home.

So yeah, getting that win is huge for Dallas. In all aspects its a statement game.

Dak has played well Vs Beags. So I see that as advantage.

The same thing two wins over the Giants in the 2007 season meant...

A win would help raise their mental/psyche and confidence for future games against the Eagles.
After the 49ers game had planted a serious mental seed of doubt in facing them again.

They may have the best record as of now, but that does not make them the best team.

It would prove that they can go on the road and beat a top tier team. It would prove that the 49ers game was an anomaly.
It would prove that this team is a legit Super Bowl team.
