What Would Happen If Jason Garrett Had Not Been Figured Out?

1. 2nd in yards per game - 420 Yards per game.

2. 1st in yards per play - 7.6

3. 3rd in points - 65

4. 3rd in points per game - 32.5

Take into consideration that Romo sucks, TO made Jason Witten, TO made Tony Romo, Roy Williams sucks, Crayton sucks, Miles Austin sucks, and OL is weak...what else am I missing?

Amazing what Garrett can do with an offense whose personnel sucks and "has been figured out".

I'd hate to see what he could do if he had not been figured out and had some decent players. [sarcasm off]

Ironic that this is one of the only coaches Wade Phillips had no say in hiring isnt it.

The problem was the 4 turnovers for sure.

When that happens and we lose it opens up the door for all the complaints that surround this team.

But regardless of what anyone think Jason Garrett is doing a good job so far.

Our formations and playcalling have been pretty this year.

True. Last year and off season in the midst of all the Garrett has been figured out furor I acknowledged some things he probably needed to improve on. Like say give Felix the ball at LEAST ONCE! However the notion that he had been figured out was and is ridiculous.

To a certain degree you simply need to realize that you cannot have reasonable conversation here. Too many, are too opinionated, and not really interested in considering or respecting a different opinion.

When a couple of those types do happen to align, the thread will be interrupted by the first type.

This is a fantastic place to come and get Cowboy news. And if you keep your expectations really low you might be able to find a shred of enjoyable conversation.

But for me I think good conversation has largely been ruined here. Its not the mods fault. They do a great job, its the vast presence of posters who's primary purpose is their own crowing.

I don't know how you solve it or that you can. You can lead a horse to water...

As ridiculous as it sounds I've wondered at times if posters here shouldn't be profiled and subdivided accordingly. Give people what they want, homerism, pessimism, Garrett hatred, whatever.

I know most would say, I wouldn't want to post at a sight where everyone agreed. I think the reality is that for too many that is exactly what they want. They simply cannot respect a different viewpoint.

So sure, lay out your logic & statistics for why Garrett as OC is really producing this year. But realize, to most dissenters it doesn't make a hill of beans difference.

well when were up by 4 and dominating on the ground why call a pass on first and 10 with the ball almost at midfield? especially when the passing game wasnt all that great. i will admit that the giants game was more Romo than Garrett but we could have easily pounded the ball down there throats for at least a field goal in that situation.

Garrett called the play but Romo could've checked down. I wouldn't have a problem with it if he was going deep to Crayton or Williams, but Sam Hurd?

The blame is on them both - 1st down, punishing running game, on their side of the 50, obviously run the ball, but also, 1st down, pass play called, their side of the 50, obviously check the ball down and take a little yardage at a time to grind the clock.

Just a bad game on both sides of the ball, except for the offensive line and our running backs.

True.

And he compounded the sin by having a receiver go 25 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.

The man should be strung up. Or at least made to wear an ankle bracelet.

....especially since there was already a Free Safety already there;)

We would win the IMPORTANT games and stats would then be a bonus.

You answered the question yourself. We were pounding the ball, it was first and 10 and the only WR in the game was maybe our least likely to get us the big play. Could there be a more unpredictable time to gain yardage in a chunk and keep the defense honest? Even if Romo had just checked down, at least it would've drilled in the mind of the Giants the fact that we will stay aggressive and attack downfield, hence, keeping their defense honest.

With Romo, Witten, Roy, Crayton, Barber, Martellus, Felix, Choice, and an O-line playing at their potential -- who thinks that a monkey could call that offense and be a top 2-3 offense if they're all healthy?
